•Led a program of Infrastructure and Operations projects in support of Digital Business Initiatives focused on transforming how Raising Canes’ interacts with their customers: Implemented a new wireless platform to support Handheld devices for line-busting and to improve Drive-thru throughput and implemented a new Mobile Ordering application, hosted on the AWS platform, which enables customers to pre-order food to be picked up curbside at our restaurants

•At CEC Entertainment, sought and received approval for, architected and managed the completed refresh of Infrastructure supporting a 525-store chain in order to support the rollout of an RFID-based game card system

•At CEC Entertainment, in order to meet the increasing requirements related to v3.x of PCI, led a program of projects focused on implementation of new functions related to Network and Security Operations, along with a significant investment in tools and new processes. Over a period of 18 months, we were able to dramatically improve the maturity and effectiveness of the IT compliance function

•At CEC Entertainment, I led the development of an Azure-based remote access solution that leveraged CyberArk and Bomgar to provide remote access for internal employees and outsourced NOC & SOC resources

•At Arbonne, I led the implementation of a new eCommerce environment to AWS. This included implementing DevOps tools and practices in order to transform how the IT team built and managed technology

•At Arbonne, in order to maintain currency of systems, I led a cross-functional team that upgraded our ERP/MRP system, including a process flow validation for current business processes, upgrade of supporting Infrastructure, implementation of new Business Continuity plan, and end-user training

•At Renaissance Reinsurance, we leveraged AWS resources for multiple technical needs: Map Reduce leveraged for weather and portfolio modeling; Disaster Recovery for key systems; and, additional compute resources during peak need

•At Renaissance Reinsurance, migrated internal Data Centers, located in Raleigh, Dublin and Bermuda, to Colocation facilities, upgraded to a NetApp and HDS SAN, and implemented a fully virtualized Server environment with DR between locations

Raising Canes Restaurants, LLC 2/2017 – 7/2020

Senior Director of Infrastructure and Support

Managed a team of 20+ individuals working on various, simultaneous projects and supporting all production systems, including 500+ restaurant sites with 25000 employees. My responsibilities included Program and Project Management, Vendor and Performance Management, Global Service Desk, Infrastructure Architecture, IT Security and IT Operations.

Achievements:

Company Application and Infrastructure Cloud-first strategy was based on implementations of PaaS & SaaS, tightly coupled solutions

Implemented a new Mobile Ordering application, hosted on the AWS platform, enabling customers to order food online for curbside pickup

Rebuilt Infrastructure, in place, improving uptime, improving uptime from 97% to 99.95%

Developed and successfully implemented a strategy to improve management of all Technology Services based on business defined KPI’s

Implemented a new ITSM management suite to enable a single pane of glass view of all IT Services, processes and support tickets. Goal was met to improve overall IT Maturity to a level agreed upon in collaboration with Executive Management

CEC Entertainment 5/2015 – 2/2017

Senior Director of Technology and Service Management

Managed a support team of 100+ individuals supporting all production systems, including 575 restaurant sites with 18000+ users. My responsibilities included Program and Project Management, managing the Customer Services, Vendor and Performance Management, Global Service Desk, Infrastructure Architecture, Dev/Ops, DBA, Restaurant and ERP support teams, along with various outsource partners providing NOC & SOC services.

Achievements:

Focused on implementation of PaaS & SaaS solutions related to the following needs: Digital Asset Management (SaaS), Company website (AWS), Remote Access (Azure), Workday, etc. We leveraged Boomi for integrations between various internal and SaaS/PaaS solutions

Designed, received approval from board and managed to completion a program designed to achieve PCI compliance for organization. This was accomplished within a 6-month period and under budget

Supporting the implementation of a RFID based game card system, tablet and kiosk-based food and beverage sales, including a POS upgrade

Led the rollout of a complete Infrastructure refresh of the CEC chain. This included a redesign of the core infrastructure, implementation of a 24x7 NOC to support an additional 55,000 in-store devices and achieving PCI compliance for the organization. Total budget for the program of $15M

Matured the Information Technology organization from a CMMI state of 1.5, achieving a state of 4 within 12 months

Leveraged a captive outsource model to staff a NOC, SOC, QA, and Infrastructure support team. This allowed the US-based staff to focus on Architecture, process improvement and projects. This model allowed IT to keep our OpEx budget from ballooning while vastly improving service, availability and ability to deliver projects

Arbonne International 10/2011 – 5/2015

Senior Director of Technical Operations

Managed a support team of 30+ individuals working on various, simultaneous projects and supporting all production systems. My responsibilities include managing the Customer Services, Vendor and Performance Management, Global Service Desk, Dev/Ops, DBA and ERP support teams, along with various partners providing outsourced Technical Operations. In addition, responsibilities include negotiating contracts for the business and for multiple support staffs supporting 1000+ users, 5 countries and 8 sites.

Achievements:

Migrated Arbonne’s eCommerce environment to Amazon Web Services, which has resulted in significant cost savings due to the use of resources on demand rather than a significant investment to build for peak usage

Reduced IT Maintenance and Operational expenses by $2M+ in annual spend, which equates to a 25% annual reduction

Improved overall, systems availability from 97.5% to 99.95% in a 6-month period. Maintained this availability target for the remainder of my tenure

Matured the Information Technology organization from a CMMI state of 2, achieving a state of 4 within 18 months

Outsourced commodity IT Support Services, allowing the internal team to focus on automation, process improvement and projects that help the business meet an aggressive International growth strategy

Global Head of Infrastructure

Promoted into the role by the CIO to transform the Global Infrastructure, Operations and Support team from 6 separate teams into one seamless organization. Responsible for a budget of $20M in OpEx and a team of 35+ individuals, including the Global Service Desk, Network Services, and IT Operations teams across all sites, located at sites in the US, Bermuda, UK, and Ireland. Responsible for $5 million capital and $20 million operations budgets.

Achievements:

Migrated to an MPLS-based Global WAN with annual savings of $500K

Migrated to Regional Data Centers, located in Bermuda, Ireland and Raleigh, which saved the company $10m in CapEx in year one and an additional $2m in OpEx over the following 5 years

Negotiated contracts for the business up to a total value of $10m, while lowering overall operational costs by 20%

AVP, Infrastructure and Process Manager

2/2004 - 6/2009

Full strategic planning, leadership, and decision-making authority for the US-based IT organization. Built the IT infrastructure, from concept into a state-of-the-art, centralized model with distributed services throughout North America. One of the first 6 employees of the firm, I led the team responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Network systems for small to medium sized businesses. During my tenure, I built 3 separate practices (Security, Infrastructure and Application Development) for the company and helped grow the business from a $1M annual revenue to $16M.

Achievements:

•Managed service delivery during a period where we increased annual revenue from $1m to $16m

•Developed and managed Aztec’s Network Operations Center. The NOC provided dedicated and non-dedicated hosting for Citrix Server Farms, Web Sites, Email and several Internet based businesses that required 99.999% uptime

•Managed a group of 60+ Infrastructure Technicians and Software Developers working on various, simultaneous projects

•Built a security practice for the firm which included Firewall implementation and managed services utilizing products from Netscreen, WatchGuard Cisco PIX and Checkpoint

•Managed projects ranging from network implementations to application development projects. This included 30+ Active Directory rollouts ranging in size from single site multi-server to 40 site projects. My role involved designing the Active Directory infrastructure, managing and implementing the rollout
