Web Developer Intern

Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan May 2019 - Present

Primary area of focus involved developing, maintaining and patching MSU’s websites. Worked with Drupal, Docker, Drush and PHP.

Used Devilbox as the LAMP stack in a Linux environment.

Interacted with the terminal and MySQL commands - Used for setting up Drupal and a local database (MariaDB).

Performed web accessibility checks to accommodate for people with disabilities – checking screen readers and accommodating for color blindness.

Amazon (Capstone Project)

Detroit September 2020 - Present

The project targets two set of users – Amazon employee’s and retail customers.

Detecting errors in product descriptions, identifying missing attribute values as well as finding additional information to be added to the product descriptions by web scraping the same category of products on other e-commerce websites to enhance the user experience while shopping online.

Technologies used: Sci-Kit, Neural networks, Deploying to AWS lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Beautiful Soup, React, Bootstrap and are using Python Flask for testing purposes.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Personal project - Weather app

Created a weather app with the use of NodeJS and explored the NPM package ecosystem.

Used express to host a local web server and OpenWeatherApp to act as the api (utilizes JSON data) to retrieve weather information from the search done by the user.

Worked with hbs to write the html code for the main page displayed.

Worked with error handling situations - wrong locations being input and error 404 (page not being found) as well as requests being sent from the backend and the result being displayed on the frontend.

Personal project – Movie Browsing app (IOS development)

Created a movie browsing app using Swift and implemented in XCode.

Have a launch screen with an icon as well as implemented a table view and grid view. Interacting with a movie api to display information about currently playing movies.

CSE 491 - Introduction to automated cars

Programed a turtlebot in python using ROS nodes and ROS topics with the aim of successfully traversing paths with various curvatures and obstacles such as detecting stop signs and pedestrians. This was implemented using Smach (ROS state machine).

Green line follower coded using logistic regression. Curvature of the path to move the turtlebot calculated using pure pursuit in base footprint coordinates after analyzing the camera input.

Experience with OpenCV to do necessary image processing.

Tested the turtlebot virtually through a gazebo simulator.

CSE 477 - Implementing a web played game

Implemented a web-based board game with a team of 4 members.

The game allowed players to be in their own remote locations. When the user connected to a site, they could either join an existing game (data pulled from the database) or create a new game(session).

Implemented object-oriented design, UML diagrams and performed code reviews.

Code written in PHP and jQuery along with the use of web sockets and dealing with client + server sides, implemented using the MVC principles.

Utilized agile and test-driven development in the process of implementing the code.
