Working Experience

05 – present: Defond Industrial Electrical Ltd

I act as a senior electronic engineer who is responsible for the project development from the beginning of client requirement, product specification, feasibility study, design the circuit and the PCB layout, build the prototype, document the test result, prepare the test plan for production and solve the production issue, also work as a post client window for dealing with the engineering issue. The handled products are:

1.Spot Light: Design a switching power supply circuit and make the engineering samples to client.

2.Miter Saw and Screw Driver: Circuit design and software development by using C programming in the Microchip MCU 16F716.

3.Fertility Aware Monitor: Design the component tracking system, design the validation test plan, design the test requirement for this OEM project.

4.AC universal motor speed control by controlling the TRIAC conduction angle.

5.Li-ion 14.4V battery driven power tools for DC motor speech control with 8-bit ST MCU: STM8S103F3U6TR

6.Speed control PCBA built in an A/C switch by using TRIAC with conduction angle controlled by MCU

7.Speed control PCBA built in a D/C switch by using MOSFET with PWM controlled by MCU.

8.Motor encoder embedded in step motor.

9.Touch panel with Atmel 32-bit MCU: ATSAMD20E18A-MNT

10.Build a photo-catalyst sterilization prototype by using a step-up switching power supply (5Và8V), design firmware of STM8S103F3U6TR to control the brightness of white-LED for sterilization feasibility study, this project is undergoing.

04: RadioTex International Limited:

I acted as a Senior Engineer for product development: I was responsible for value added in a current product. A broadcast radio receiver (88-108 MHz) was added in a PDA product (function: pager, radio, stock information, weather, news, email, etc.). I designed the radio receiver function software by C language, monitor the product quality from component selection to product reliability.

03: Wong’s Electronic Company Ltd

My role was Design QA for new product development (from circuit design review to testing methodology review). I took part in the product review by conducting various tests on the engineering samples, such as environmental test, designing the QRS (Quality, reliability and safety) test plan and software function test plan etc. After conducting the test, I would prepare a report and analyze the report provided by design engineers. Finally, project final review would be released before production. I also acted as a coordinator, gathering information and applying CCC certificate for our current product in China market.

97 – 02 : Schlumberger Industrial Ltd as a Senior Software Engineer

In Schlumberger, I have gained various experiences by working in different teams.

1.In Banking Terminal Team (11/97 – 12/98)

One of the projects I handled was ‘Hong Kong Parking Meter’. My responsibility was to develop a prepaid smart card driver. The driver worked on a Point of Sale (POS) terminal.

2. In Tools Team (12/98 – 2/00)

I was responsible for P@S project (down load Applet software from server side to client side through Intranet). I was responsible for component development -- the Dynamic Link Library (DLL) by using C++ and Component Object Model (COM).

3. In Mobile Mask Team (2/00 -- 12/02)

I was in charge of the validation part of the CDMA RUIM (Removable User Identity Module) project. I had to select the testing techniques and designed the validation test plan and write the validation test script by using Visual Basic language.

After that, I was responsible for customizing the SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) softmask (Embedded software stored in EEprom of SIM) for South Asia. I designed the technical specification based on the proposal and requirements from marketing team. I estimated the time required, gave advices and provided solutions to marketing team. Then I designed and developed the software according to the specification.

95-97: Telinstrument Co Ltd as a Senior Electronic Engineer.

I completed two representative projects. The first one was 433 MHz Low Power Device (LPD) handheld transceiver; the second one was 156MHz handheld marine transceiver. In both projects, I was responsible for hardware and software development starting from the circuit diagram drawing, PCB layout (by using CAD -- PADS 2000 and Power PCB) to MCU programming. The activities included the component selection, component evaluation and building the BOMs .
