Acadian Medical Center

Duties include:

Doing morning rounds, which include collecting ER, ICU, Nursery, Maternity, and routine in and outpatient labs in a timely manner; checks pending list to insure no patients were missed during rounds. Prepare daily data and expense report to supervisor for morning director meeting. Basic accounting duties include; charging all un-orderable tests sent to reference labs, fixing billing issues due to missing diagnosis codes/cpt codes, and crediting all unperformed tests, also correcting all errors on lab orders made by lab personnel. Maintain detailed record of samples sent to Pathologist, and ensures all results are sent to ordering physicians, and maintain hard copies on site. Track all labs sent to reference labs, ensures all results are inputted into HMS system in a timely manner and all issues with labs are resolved to physicians’ preferences. Maintain and stock laboratory supplies as appropriate. Other duties include; dispatching calls, faxing, filing, scanning, and basic data entry.

HEINEN MEDICAL

Duties include:

Maintain integrity of sample by following both DOT and NONDOT regulations for urine, hair and saliva testing. Perform venipunctures for blood drug testing also. Processes, packs, and ships samples to appropriate laboratories. Maintain testing supplies and proper documentation to perform drug screens along with maintaining ALCO Sensor IV. Other Duties Include; Maintain daily log of samples. Maintain daily shipping log of samples to laboratories. Perform Pulmonary Function Test and FIT testing. Perform Audio Testing. Assist MRO’s in doing reviews on drug screens, by calling donors, maintaining files, verifying prescriptions, and checking review list to make sure all files have been received from either TPA or Laboratories.

SECON

Duties include:

Front Desk: Greets customers appropriately. Performs basic data entry including Microsoft word, Power point and Excel and clerical duties via logging in patient demographics, pulling company COC, and filling out appropriate paperwork upon check-in. Other duties include answering phones, dispatching calls, faxing, collecting monetary fees and maintaining cash register.

Drug Screen Collector: Maintains integrity of sample by following both DOT and non-DOT regulations for urine, hair, and saliva testing. Processes, packs, tracks, and ships to clinical laboratories.

Quest Diagnostics

Duties Include:

Greet customers appropriately. Perform basic data entry including Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel and clerical duties via updating patient demographics and insurance information upon check-in. Maintain accurate records of daily operations, samples collected and transported and patient results.

Ensures all specimens are collected accurately and in a timely manner. Calls client(s) to confirm unclear or non-legible laboratory orders, verifies test(s) ordered and obtains accurate billing information, i.e. diagnostic codes, etc. Labels, processes, and packages specimens for further transport. Maintain all laboratory equipment in site. Call in work orders when needed. Stock, track and manages all supplies for site and clients offices. Trouble-shoot all laboratory related issues and follows through until resolved; or if unable to resolve forwards to supervisor. Is knowledgeable on departmental policies, protocol and procedures and complies. Maintain all appropriate IOP (In-Office Phlebotomist) monthly statistics and data to be forwarded to supervisor, and submits data promptly and in a timely fashion.

Miscellaneous duties to include: keeping the work area organized and clean, disposes of biohazard containers when appropriate, participates on teams, volunteers for special projects such as Health Fairs. Other duties include answering phones, dispatching calls, and resolving patient billing issues, filling, faxing, and preparing mail.

US ARMY

Active Duty August 2002- August 2007 MEDDAC - AK Ft. Richardson May 2004 – August 2007

Served on Active Duty for the United States Army as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.

Duties Include:

Customer Service, maintain Laboratory SOP’s, weekly QA/QI reports to higher officials, memorandums for record. Experienced as a Front Desk Receptionist, in answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking in patients and basic clerical skills along with fax and copy machine. Access control for building by verifying individuals on authorized lists and issuing visitor passes. Oversaw the collection, processing and shipment of blood, urine, and other specimens under JCAHO/CLIP/CAP guidelines. Analyzed daily specimens (urinalysis w/microscopic, microscopic slides, occult bloods, rapid streps, qual Bhcg, both urine and serum, and STAT finger stick glucose.) Perform basic data entry for patient results. Maintain a detailed filing system for all patient results, monthly data, supply orders and maintenance records.
