Certified Clinical Allergy Specialist 2016-2018
Performed skin allergy tests on patients ages 4- 22 in a pediatric clinic, testing for seasonal and perennial allergens. Formulated immunotherapy treatment custom to patients’ test results. Administered injections of immunotherapy to patients.
Educated patients and parents on allergies, immunotherapy, anaphylaxis, and safety protocols involving immunotherapy and epinephrine.
Worked directly with the physicians to provide the best care for the patients suffering from chronic allergies.
Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO
Surgical Procedure Assistant 2016
Ensured the trauma rooms were always set up due to the OR’s level one trauma center status. Cleaned the operating rooms and ensured they were prepared for each case. Turned over anesthesia; assembled arterial lines, warmers, IVs, and buretrols. Disinfected various scopes including anesthesia scopes, bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, and TEE probes.
Transported patients and patient families to and from the operating room complex. Completed shave preps and surgical preps on patients as needed.

Relativity of Exercise Type and Its Effects on the Progression of Alzheimer’s Disease
oUsed APP/PS1 strain mice to study the effects intensity and duration of exercise had on the formation of amyloid beta plaque aggregation found in Alzheimer’s disease.
Relativity of Exercise in the Progression of Parkinson’s Disease
oA pilot study that looked at the effects exercise had on the aggregation of alpha synuclein in transgenic mice.
Behavioral Effects Witnessed in the Progression of Alzheimer’s Disease
oPerformed the Morris Water Maze and object identification tests to analyze the cognitive function of APP strain mice over time as the disease progressed.
VOLUNTEERING

•Host a weekly community breakfast for those who were not able to afford the cost of preparing their own meal.
FIMRC, Alajuelita, Costa Rica 2015
•A week-long immersion trip in Costa Rica
•Assisted in a variety of services that are provided in a non-profit clinic that’s patient population is predominantly Nicaraguan immigrants and uninsured Costa Rican citizens. Tasks included taking patient histories and vital signs, preparing prescriptions, dance therapy, and leading health education classes. The health education classes ranged in topics from the importance of hygiene to the differences between sadness and depression.
Surgery Center at Christian Hospital, St. Louis, MO 2014
•Provided additional support to the pre-op and post-op team. Responsibilities ranged from making beds and making sure each room was appropriately stocked with equipment to transporting patients throughout the hospital.
Russell Elementary School, Hazelwood School District, Hazelwood, MO 2007-2017
•Provide additional support for the teachers in the classroom. Responsibilities include leading reading groups, teaching science lessons, grading, and one-on-one tutoring for students who need additional help.
St. Andrew United Methodist Church, Florissant, MO 1999-2017
•Host a community Thanksgiving dinner for those who may not have anyone to celebrate the holiday with or may not be able to afford the cost of preparing their own meal. In addition, to-go meals are prepared for those who are either working on the holiday or are homebound.

While involved, I served as a team leader to a group who presented on diabetes and medication management. I was responsible for ensuring my team was prepared to present at various community events.

•An extracurricular club designed to inform students how to get involved and provide medical care in the event of a natural disaster or emergency.

Allows pre- professional students to learn more about various professional fields and how to prepare themselves if they want to go into those fields. Hosts events such as informational talks with professionals who share their experiences in their career field.

Mentor
Provided guidance to lower classmen cell and molecular majors in a way that is often viewed as more approachable than seeking help a professor advisor. Mentoring responsibilities ranged from aiding students in scheduling their classes, what extracurricular activities to get involved in, and how to build their resumes based on what they wanted to do post-graduation.
