Have always worn multiple hats in every position, and thrive at accepting new challenges that require learning and innovation; the last four companies were completely new products and processes, which required me to learn very quickly. Also have worked as a machinist and a tool grinder prior to obtaining my degree. Well versed in all shop processes such as machining and assembly, as well as sub contracted processes such as heat treating and plating. Taught an SPC class for all new employees as well as supplier employees.

Worked directly with all suppliers to improve their processes and the quality they provided. Assisted them in developing corrective actions, including root cause and preventive action.

Managed the quality system for two plants with two shifts, including gage calibration.

Created and implemented a complete gage tracking and calibration system.

Developed computerized problem reporting and tracking system, which tracks every problem and its corrective action.

Manager of Product Engineering, responsible for all process layouts used on the shop floor, and created a system for estimating new jobs.

Assumed the duties of Manager of Process Engineering, and instituted set up sheets for all departments, and established engineering change notices with revision levels tied into shop orders.

1980 to 1985 Commercial Shearing, Inc., Youngstown, OH.

Process Engineer

Designed and built several pieces of production equipment.

Created a filtration system that reduced the down time of CNC equipment.

Selected to help move a company from Los Angeles, CA to Ohio, which involved learning their technology, then setup the assembly and test department in Ohio, trained and supervised the union workforce. We never missed a single shipment to customers.

Also worked as the product engineer, and improved several designs for ease of manufacturing.

While working full time and going to school half-time, was on the Dean’s list the entire time in school, and was chosen by A.S.M.E. to receive their award as the outstanding Mechanical Engineering Technology graduate.

Other experience

While working as a new product design engineer, received a U.S. Patent for one of my designs. Worked as a new product design engineer, plant maintenance and machinist. Able to run most tool room or tool grinding equipment, in addition to most standard manufacturing equipment. Have worked in both union and non-union environments.
