Resume:

To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Desiree Edwards and I am a licensed family nurse practitioner. I have a great interest in providing high-quality care for patients in diverse settings and would appreciate being considered as a candidate in joining your team. Although, this would be my initial position as a practicing nurse practitioner, I have been in the medical field for over three years. I am proficient in stroke care, neuro progressive care as well as phlebotomy and intravenous placement. Throughout my career I have developed a proven reputation for providing optimal care to my patients.

I began my nursing career in 2016 at Methodist Hospital is San Antonio, TX where I was employed for two and half years. I was committed to Methodist Hospital and truly loved working there. In 2019 I then moved to Brownsville, TX where I completed my family nurse practitioner clinical rotations and doubled up on semesters in order to sooner complete my masters program. Throughout my nursing experience I assessed patient needs, developed and implemented patient plans with multidisciplinary teams as well as, evaluated and maximized the delivery in the quality of patient care. Being that I am from Brownsville, TX and have lived in many parts of Texas, I am able to work with patients of all socioeconomic, demographic, and religious backgrounds. This has taught me how to quickly adapt to changing environments, while understanding and meeting the very different needs of others. I love that I was able to live in different communities because it also taught me how important it is to embrace and accept diversity of all kinds.

I am positive, outgoing, adaptable, hardworking and am a good listener. I highly value team collaboration and understand how important effective communication is among staff and patients. As a healthcare provider, I enjoy learning as well as applying acquired knowledge into patient-centered care that focuses on safety and effective team collaboration. In 2017 I was a Daisy Award nominee within my first six months as a new registered nurse, which I am very proud of. My personal philosophy as an advanced practice nurse is to create a relationship with the patients I provide care to, so that trust is built in order to make a positive impact in their lives.

I am confident that my learned skills, clinical experiences, and compassion for patients will help to benefit me at your practice. I hope that you will consider me as an interview candidate and I look forward to discussing this job opportunity with you. Thank you for your attention and consideration.

Sincerely,

Desiree Edwards MSN, APRN, FNP-C, BSN, RN
