Increase Automation Standardize Store Experience Optimize Workflow Improve Quality
Established and manage the company’s first Innovation Center (2012 – Present): Built and managed a $2MM, state-of-the-art innovation center used internally to innovate new products, test products from global vendors, and deliver team training for both internal and external partners.
Cooler / Freezer Fast Alert project (2012 – Present): Installed automated temperature tracking and fault notification tags designed by Kroger R&D, leveraging ZigBee Protocol for interface connectivity. Rolled out a 16-store proof of concept that generated $8K savings (by alerting owners to refrigeration malfunctions) within the first two weeks. Currently 3-year rollout to 2,600 stores nationwide.
LED lighting / facilities automation (2014 – Present): Current projects focus on improving store automation, including automated lighting. Managed vendor selection, ZigBee connectivity, and hosted senior management to innovation center to showcase options.
Production planning (2012 – 2013): Managed automation project to improve meat cutting production. Leveraged expertise of Operations Research Team to develop an algorithm, schedule, and software to maintain adequate stock in the meat department. Installed in 47 stores as proof of concept, and leading enterprise-wide rollout.
Improved distribution network accountability (2002 – 2007): Identified and remediated $18MM annual inventory outages. Gained buy in for a $25MM / 5-year remediation project rolled out across 23 distribution centers. Recovered $8MM in Year 1, $15MM by Year 2, and $17MM (94%) every year since.
Launched the first voice pick application for distribution centers (2000): Managed roll out of voice pick application across 18 distribution centers, which improved workflow with sufficient ROI to facilitate other software and hardware upgrades.
Entrusted to plan and lead field implementation for both prototype (proof of concept) and commercial launches with minimal disruption to retail operations.
Recognized relationship builder with the ability to bring together cross-functional technical teams across manufacturing, distribution, system architects, among others.
