ADMINSTRATIVE EXPERIENCE
As ESL Coordinator( Friendship PCS)
Conduct meetings with staff for the purpose of coordinating districtwide activities including disseminating and receiving information, planning and implementing activities/events, addressing operational issues, etc.
Confer with staff as may be appropriate regarding instructional techniques, organization of practices, etc. for the purpose of providing guidance and mentoring.
Coordinate a variety of administrative activities (e.g. screening, interviewing, recommending, and/or orienting program staff; etc.) for ensuring a positive learning environment and the efficient use of resources within the specified program area.
Coordinate language proficiency testing (ACCESS WIDA) for identifying students that qualify for English Language Development programs.
Identifies program needs (e.g. instructional materials and equipment, etc.) for providing input to school administration that will enhance the ESL program.
Monitor District and Site level advisory committees for the purpose of ensuring compliance and obtaining input to maximize program effectiveness.
Monitor inventory of instructional materials, equipment and supplies for identifying required items to provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum.
Participate in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars (e.g. site management team, specialized staff, district curriculum, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
Prepare a variety of reports and written materials (e.g. District ESL plan, benchmark objectives, supply orders, equipment inventory, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
Recommend budget expenditures for addressing curricular, equipment and supply needs required to implement the instructional program.
Researches new material and recommends pilot projects for providing the most effective program for the students.
Respond to inquiries from school personnel for providing information, assistance and/or direction related to the grade level or special area activities.

Demonstrate effective technology leadership in the area of instruction and curriculum that results in improved teaching and learning; direct and guide school leaders through challenging academic environments that are centered around academic excellence, closing the achievement gap, and technology integration.
.Coordinate the regular and on-going review of the academic program including curriculum mapping and evaluation, graduation requirements, grading, approach to instruction
Assist with the creation of in-service programs designed to promote best practices in instruction • Conduct observations and participate in evaluations; recommend professional growth and development opportunities for faculty members.
Meet with teachers weekly to rotate through the grade levels, analyze data, define student needs, and agree on lessons to be taught that are aligned with those needs; develop and practice teaching lessons and openly discuss how well the teachers are progressing.
Maintain dialogue with students, parents, and faculty in regard to the academic program
Coordinate Middle States evaluation
Coordinate quarterly student report cards, update reports and transcripts
Monitor student academic progress; contact parents of students as needed
Project Management
Write grant narratives incorporating elements of the school’s instruction program from curriculum to instruction
Analyze data for grant purposes to show the performance of network and individual schools versus surrounding areas and the state as a whole
Develop budgets and collaborate on grant applications with various schools, administrative staff, and community organizations. Processing, monitoring, and coordinating required report evaluations on new and existing grants
Monitor campuses and providing feedback to school leaders on successful execution of our network’s core instructional expectations
Provide support to campuses on various programs used and helping school leaders with professional development, as necessary
Data analysis and integrity work such as reviewing various spreadsheets and tests
Aid with curriculum development and academic program analyses
Manage, organize, and analyze data from a variety of sources including Study
Education Policy
Analyze state and federal education policies under guidance from senior team members;
Analyze quantitative and qualitative data, as well as translating analyses into policy briefs for a non-technical audience;
Analyze federal data sets for information on young children, including those related to disparities for low-income families of color and immigrant families, as well as translating data for policymakers and advocates;
Research and writing high-quality reports, policy analyses, and issue briefs in substantive areas of work.
As Language Immersion Coordinator (Mary McLeod Bethune PCS)
Coordinate recruitment of new students and conduct informational sessions at the school and in the community for prospective families.
Ensure that student intake procedures provide sufficient information to inform placement and that staff responsible for intake and placement are knowledgeable about the TWI program.
Coordinate efforts to standardize policies and procedures across the program (such as scope-and-sequence for the partner language, policies regarding referrals and retention for language learners, student recruitment and lottery procedures) and monitor their implementation.
Professional Development
Professional Learning Community facilitator Curriculum and Instruction (ESL)
Developed, implemented, and guided a highly structured, focused, and meaningful professional development (PD) and grade level plan utilizing multiple assessments to improve academic performance and close the achievement gap, resulting in improved teaching practices and improved learning outcomes.
Organize ongoing professional development activities, coach program teachers, and mentor ESL teachers
Work with school administrators to create criteria for teacher recruitment and hiring, and serve on interview committees (where appropriate).
Create a comprehensive professional development plan that aligns competencies necessary for TWI staff with school
Families and Community
Work with the parent/family liaison (where applicable) to develop parental understanding of and support for the ESL programs’ goals.
Communicate frequently with parents to update them on ESL &TWI program happenings, to identify community resources, and to help families support their students’ academic growth
Organize activities to bring families together to reinforce the cross-cultural goals of the program.
Curriculum and Instruction
Work with teachers to monitor ESL new curriculum mandates and changing student needs, and to adapt new curriculum and materials, ensuring they are articulated within and across grade levels.

Attend regional or national conferences on TWI and the education of language learners (both English learners and learners of the partner language).
As English As Second Language Program Manager
Implement procedures and coordinate the process to identify bilingual students at all grade levels district-wide, including review of student data and testing of students.
Develop and revise bilingual and ESL curriculum as needed.
Assist teachers to develop and provide bilingual and ESL students with appropriate course work through curriculum modification, acceleration, etc.
