FORMULATION OF AN IDEAL ANTIDIABETIC PHYTO-PREPARATION THROUGH EVALUATION OF ITS CHEMICAL INGREDIENTS AND TEST OF EFFICACY
(a) Assaying the contents of ascorbic acid and polyphenols
(b) Assessment of the contents of heavy metals and the trace elements.
(c) Assessment of the presence of polyphenols and lectin. STUDIES ON INSULIN MIMETIC POTENTIAL OF THE TEST HERBAL PREPARATION IN ALLOXAN INDUCED DIABETIC RATS
a) Isolation and purification of lectin
b) Establishment of primary cell culture of pancreatic Beta-cell of alloxan rats c) Effect of test drug and its lectin on Beta-cell growth rate and Insulin secretion. d) In-vivo effect of test drug and its lectin on Blood Glucose level and e) Pancreatic Beta-cells generation of alloxan induced diabetic rats. The in-vivo and in-vitro efficacy of the test drug
(i) oxidant/antioxidant and lysosomal status of type II diabetic polymorphoneutrophils
(ii) membrane phenomenon of type II diabetic cells. IN-VIVO EFFECT OF THE TEST DRUG ON BLOOD GLUCOSE HOMEOSTASIS AND OTHER BIOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS IN TYPE II DIABETIC SUBJECTS Hypoglycemic effects on diabetic subjects for the blood chemistry such as Glucose Tolerance Test, Serum Glucose, Serum Insulin, Serum Leptin and Serum Lipid profile studies, Glycosylated hemoglobin.
