EDUCATION

University of Southern California 2021

• GPA: 3.76; BS Mechanical Engineering - Viterbi School of Engineering. WORK EXPERIENCE

Hendrickson Woodridge, IL – Specialty Vehicles Engineering Intern 2019

• Develop and test suspension systems for Military, Agriculture, Fire and Rescue vehicles.

• Designed a testing rig for an air strut to undergo two load cases the first of a 65kip full compression and the second of a 45kip full rebound each for 100k cycles.

• Designed a trailing arm suspension hanger to offer a 5” taller ride height for heavy duty logging and agriculture vehicles.

• Designed bearing assembly in an agriculture sprayer air shock to reduce cost by 65%. Developed a greased plain bearing assembly and created a cost analysis for the bearing system S&C Electric Chicago, IL – Material Handling 2018

• S&C is a manufacturing company of high-quality transformer systems. I would identify, sort, and take inventory of over 5,000 unique pieces used in production.

• Developed an understanding of large-scale manufacturing, and how to design parts that coincide with that process. PROJECTS

USC Racing – Vehicle Dynamics Lead 2018-Present

USC Racing is a student-run organization that annually designs, manufactures, tests, and races a new student driven high performance autocross race car. USC Placed 12th in skidpad and 23rd in autocross at FSAE Lincoln 2019. As the Vehicle Dynamics Lead, I am responsible for overseeing the designs and manufacturing of the car’s:

Wheel package, Suspension system, Steering, and Braking system. Design

Lead of project to downsize wheel package from 13” to 10” rims. The goal of this project was to reduce the non- suspended weight of the car by 30 lbs. resulting in a 0.44s simulated savings in a competition lap time.

Led torsional rigidity rig project to determine the stiffness of a steel space frame. Designed in Siemens NX 12 conducted FEA simulations to limit deflection of the rig to <0.008”.

Conducted a tire analysis to choose the optimal tires to be used with 10” wheels. Data from the Tire Testing Consortium on 4 tires with 20+ runs each where 15+ variables were measured for each run were analyzed. Manufacturing

Developed the manufacturing process to align steering column with equal U-Joint angles of 26 while allowing for the driver to choose desired wheel location before mounting increasing driver comfort and confidence.

Daily experience with leadership, teamwork, problem solving, manufacturing, and communication.

I am the lead welder of the teams 4130 chromoly steel space frame as well as various other thin walled steel suspension parts and mounting parts. Material thickness ranging from: (0.035:0.5”) Three Story Elevator 2018

• Created a functioning model elevator, programmed to take a desired floor input and determine how to best move to drop off passengers.

• Utilized REED Switches, DC Motors, and LEDs implemented through a C program on a RaspberryPi.

• Directed the team to finish 2 weeks prior to our deadline which granted us additional time to optimize our code and eliminate repetitive logic and possible bugs. Our final code was 15% shorter than of the original. SKILLS

Software: Siemens NX, Microsoft Office, MATLAB, LabVIEW and OptimumG. Manufacturing: TIG Welding, Metal Working, Machining, and Shop Safety. Professional: Problem-Solving, Working with a Team, Formal Research, and Presentation.
