Work Experience
Data Science/Data Analyst Intern July 2020 – Present
Arch Talents
Develops a new data processing method for EDUrain to help students with FAFSA applications and scholarships
Presents weekly project reports virtually to manager and team
Collaborates with team under Agile/SCRUM environment
Runs data through Talend, an ETL system, to extract and integrate data from various sources
Processes data through open source AWS (Amazon Web Services, a cloud computing platform) and loads into Tableau to represent findings
Utilizes Python programming language for data processing
Writes reports on the analysis to inform the readers of future expectations based on the processed data
Research Intern June 2019 – Aug 2019
Iowa State University
Researched electrically charged particles in polyethylene when melted down in a fluidized bed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
Validated particle theories through convergence and parametric study and simulated case studies using OpenFOAM (used for computational fluid dynamics) and Condo Cluster (high performance computing) on Linux OS
Found that there is charging between melted polyethylene particles and the walls of the fluidized bed which can create a fire hazard and stop work production
Presented results to lead professor and graduate student
Wrote report on findings and recommended solutions to the problem
Chemistry, Calculus II, and Differential Equations Tutor Oct 2018 – Dec 2019
Iowa State University
Provided academic support to students to better understand concepts of the subject areas
Instructed students in small groups to enhance their learning
Prepared additional study guides and other learning materials aligned with course curriculum
Project Experience
Capstone Design
Developed a seat suspension system used in couches and love seats for sponsoring company, Flexsteel, as a team. Planned design that will reduce material costs, weigh less, and fulfill comfort and travel indexes using SolidWorks and ANSYS FEA
Introduction to Mechanical Engineering Design
Applied structural analysis theories and Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA) method in designing charcoal infused curtains for use as an air filter for homes in developing countries with high pollution levels
Engineering Graphics & Introductory Design
Developed and improved the design of a coffee grinder using SolidWorks to provide a better performance and function more efficiently than standard designs
Computer-Aided Design
Learned the theory and applications of computer-aided design, computer graphics program, 3D modeling, and finite element modeling using MATLAB, SolidWorks, and ANSYS
Manufacturing Engineering Laboratory
Hands-on learning of stress analysis, hardness testing, mechanical testing of materials, welding, rolling- and manual- extrusion, and additive manufacturing. Wrote reports on experiments related to manufacturing design
Heat Transfer Analysis
Studied the effects of heat transfer in solids, liquids, and gases. Analyzed conduction, convection, and radiation through different materials. Simulated and analyzed heat transfer in a system using COMSOL (multiphysics simulation software)
Fluid Flow Lab
Analyzed the characteristics of how fluids flow and what effects it. Used LabView for data collection and ANSYS to create simulations of fluid mechanics. Wrote individual and group reports
System Dynamics and Control Lab
Reviewed and analyzed systems and controls. Used LabView for data collection as well as MATLAB and Simulink to simulate systems (i.e., timing, objects, motors, electrical connections, etc)
