To whom it may concern,
As an EMT and new graduate nurse with five years of experience with BLS, CCT transports and emergency response, I am interested in a position of employment as my new opportunistic career of nursing. While being a qualified job candidate, I will be able to commit fully to the hours required for nursing job duties and responsibilities. Some background that makes me a safe worker is that I am a professional driver because of my ambulance experience. While driving code 3(lights and sirens), it is very important to be focused, careful and defensive as a driver. These skills transfer to my new field of employment because as a nurse, we must first and always consider patient safety and additionally, advocate for them non-judgmentally with their values and beliefs in mind. I completed ADN school at Glendale Career College in San Diego June 2020. With the education and skills training I have received, I am open and moldable to meet your expectations as an employee to perform at my very best according to facility standards and protocols. As I gain experience, I will use my increased thinking skills and acquired back ground to be a nurse who strives to make things better. As a personal goal, I want to make an important impact that benefits patients and care providers. With your help and training, these goals of mine are possible and will benefit your facility. Thank you for taking the time to view my application for your consideration. Sincerely,
Ryan Schilling
Education:
-Mount San Jacinto Community College and Palomar Community College: Completed my pre-requisite education before applying to nursing school and completion of EMT course.

-Glendale Career College: Continuation of ADN course beginning March 2019 until completion June 2020.
Employment History:
-Albertsons Inc.: Started bagging groceries and returning shopping carts from the parking lot. I advanced to cashier where I was responsible for the currency in my drawer and completing complex transactions with EBT, WICC and was responsible for memorizing about 200 4 number produce codes. I advanced to being a butcher and cut select pieces of meat and completed special orders while providing front end customer service. I was also responsible for the dairy inventory and product rotation while keeping the shelves full as people shopped.
-Cycle Gear Inc.: I provided customer service in store, helped people find and order special parts for all bikes, and was responsible for opening the store in the morning. I also managed products to keep in stock or discontinue while performing tire changes for bikes in the back of the store.
-Mission Ambulance Inc.: I provided BLS, CCT and NICU transport for 2 years while working 24 hour shifts. It was my responsibility to provide safe patient care within our scope of practice for Riverside and Orange County protocols. I acquired documentation skills using the CHART method at the time. During long transports and one on one patient care I was more than just someone monitoring a patient, I was their only company at the time and I had to be unbiased and talk within professional limits and protect the patient from any HIPAA violations.
-Casino Pauma Indian Reservation: I doubled as an EMT and security officer. I chose not to carry any weapons such as mace or batons because as a care provider my focus was on patient’s well-being and I felt guarding weapons was a distraction to patient care. I was the only EMT in the casino at times and fulfilled my security duties. If an incident occurred with an employee or guest, I was paged on my radio headset, someone would cover my post where I always made sure I had access to a trauma bag, and would run to the needed location. I was a first responder for first-aid, de-escalating fights, many hypoglycemic episodes, and intoxicated individuals including narcotics, seizures and strokes. At one point I drove into work at 6am and was instantly dispatched before I could clock in to a gun-shot victim in the parking lot with an entrance and exit wound. Every day was different and I never knew what to expect.
