JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspecting the incoming materials for damages, dimensions and ensures that MTC is available and according to the requirements. Ensure satisfactory identification of materials, proper protection of piping. Verify proper size and schedule of pipe.
Review and evaluate drawings on plane, isometric for monitoring the piping fabrication and erection.
All quality control activities associated with the main contractors as follows: documentation of WPS
/ PQR, all kind of engineering documentations and drawings, fabrication, welding, NDT.
Review of all documents (WPS, PQR, ITP) standard procedures and QIP and all the applicable codes before start of the work. Review NDE procedure and their acceptance & rejection criteria
Visual inspection before, during and after welding.
Performing inspection of fit-up and dimensional as per isometric and checking with test packages, punch clearing, witness and inspection of Hydro testing.
Inspection of all welding consumables and filler materials, its storage and handling as per specification.
Monitoring, calibration of the welding equipment and holding ovens.
Reviewing of test calibration certifications.
Prepare NDT request report for welding joints.
Maintaining all quality related records, NDE reports etc.
Hydro testing inspection of all pressure parts as per approved procedure.
Identifying quality problems, promptly reporting and documenting all the instances of Non- conformance and stopping further processing of work till its rectification.
Maintain the daily welding and fit up record.
Confirm repairs, re-testing and re-inspection in accordance with specifications.
Quality checkup and preparation of work completion reports as on client acceptance.
Co-ordinate with QC inspection team.
Check flow direction arrows on valves; verify that the properly identified valves are installed in accordance with the flow diagram.
Ensure that pipe supports, hangers and guides have been installed in accordance with the piping drawings and the pipe support details.
Confirm the piping system concurs with flow diagrams to verify completeness of system. Evaluation of test package contents, lines checking against drawing requirements to ensure completeness and quality of the piping system.
Verify initiation of field piping and equipment pressure test punch list. Ensure correction or completion of punch list items. Verify preparation of piping test package including piping test record.
Check and assure that all joints are exposed for examination during pressure test. Ensure that isolation or disconnection of equipment not to be tested. Check vents are open when filling and draining lines.

Witness final pressure tests, including verification that pressure gauges have adequate dial range and is calibrated.
Verify that the testing pressure does not exceed the allowable test pressure of any equipment in the system.
Verify that the required test pressure was maintained for the specified length of time with no acceptable leakage.
Confirm repairs, re-testing and re-inspection in accordance with specifications. Ensure blinds are removed and correct gaskets are installed.
Verify that control valves and other items that were removed for the test are replaced. Check that water has been removed from check valves.
If specified on drawings, confirm that the vents and drains not required for operations are plugged. Verify that the startup screens are positioned at pump suctions.
Verification of closed punch items and conduct walk through for each completed piping system prior to mechanical acceptance.
To assist the Site Superintendent and coordinate the Supervisors activity, carry out and implement the QA/QC program, arrange and conduct meetings under the Site Superintendent direction.
Construct as-built or as-constructed drawing for modified lines as per Engineering suggestion and approval for weld mapping and test package attachment.
Review the Package prior Hydro Test.
Checking all the N.D.E requirements are performed as per client Requirement
Line checking and clearing the punch items like valves, elbows, flanges, gaskets. Orientation, Direction, Schedule, Rating, heat numbers and size as per the drawings. Prepare the punch items (before and after pressure test) for each pressure test packages related to piping
Inspection of pressure test (Hydro/Pneumatic test) according to piping class, their test limit and required pressure.
Experience in Commissioning/Pre-commissioning activities such as air blowing, steam blowing, chemical cleaning and lay up methods of piping systems.
Prepare and update Commissioning/Pre-commissioning schedules
Pre-test line checking with client to close out the punch list Category A & B prior to test the piping system.
To execute hydro test, pneumatic test, and nitrogen/ helium leak test of piping system.
Reinstatement line checking with client to close out the punch list Category B after the piping system is tested.
To carryout and complete the Mechanical completion systematically and as per plan and to support the pre-commissioning & commissioning activities according to system & sub-system breakdown.
To execute Third Party, Walk Down with Client Inspector, Client Operation, Commissioning Engineer and QC Inspector to close out the Mechanical completion for handover to Commissioning team.
To communicate for verifying to Design engineering of any findings anomalies on piping system during Third Party Walk Down, resolving and executing the anomalies based on Design engineering and Client approval.

To close out MC certificates for company and client endorsement.
Assist on resolving any construction reworks and consumable materials issues during commissioning phase.
