WORK EXPERIENCE

Engineering Intern Tecnofist (INDIA) Jan 2017-May 2017

Performed engineering calculations and performance simulations.

Developed Single Line Diagrams, Short Circuit Analyses, Time Current Coordination.

Helped senior engineers to ensure designs are compliant with the companies’ principles of design for manufacturing, assembly, and systems integration.

Performed factory and site inspections.

Engineer In Training Mitron Innovations (INDIA) June 2017-June2018

Developed One and three-line diagrams.

Worked with communication devices like HMI, SCADA and RTU.

Calculated relay settings for microprocessor relays.

Interfaced with engineers from other company disciplines to ensure project requirements are met. Research Assistant (University of Idaho, Idaho national Laboratory) May 2019-August 2020 Risk and Resilience Assessment of Cyber-Attacks on Electric Grids: Cyber-Physical Testing for Evaluation of Risk

Implemented IEEE 14-Bus system and developed scenarios and data exchange methods using PowerWorld, RSCAD, PSCAD.

Implemented Hardware in Loop simulation with RTDS and connected communication protocols (DNP3.0 and GOOSE (IEC 61850)) between RTDS, RTAC and protective relay.

Implemented and validated test system in RTDS including commercial protection and control devices, developed and implemented scenarios exploring cyber-attacks, physical events, collected cyber-physical measurement data from testbed for normal, abnormal operation and attack scenarios.

Research Assistant (University of Idaho) May 2019-August 2019 Cybersecurity Testbed for Power Systems Education and Research

Implemented IEEE 9-Bus system in RTDS and performed network traffic detection using DNP3.0 protocol between testbed and the SCADA master(iFIX).

Tested whether interface is pulling DNP3.0 network packets from the RTAC.

Along with the teammates tested the iFIX interface displayed the correct analog values from IEEE 9 Bus system. ACADEMIC CLASS PROJECT

Relay Settings October 2018

Tested relay settings of SEL 487, SEL 411, SEL 351 by applying different fault scenarios on a scale model power system.

Calculated minimum pickup and time dial setting for SEL 351 and SEL 411 relays.

Tested the settings of SEL 487 relay to trip to an internal fault and not to trip in an external fault and tested how saturation of CT can lead to relay to misperation.

Distance Relay model testing in PSCAD/EMTDC February 2019

Implemented distance relay model for transmission line protection in PSCAD/EMTDC.

Tested relay response by applying fault at different location. HONORS AND ACTIVITIES

Government of India Research Scholarship for Technical Education.

Participated in IEEE Palouse event organized by SEL.

Participated in animal rescue shelters.

Volunteered at local libraries.
