EXPERIENCE:

Materials Supervisor

Reassigned to Logistics to re-build the 2nd shift team in June. 2nd shift turnover and call-offs have decrease significantly. Operators are held accountable for simple handbook violations and praise and encouragement is what I found to be lacking the most. Though consistent progressive discipline is imperative, coaching, encouragement and admonition are the keys. They build cars, I build people. Moved to 3rd shift in November to do the same. Reorganized the work assignments and was able to reduce staffing from 9 to 7 handlers.

Production Supervisor

Built production teams that met and often times exceeded production goals. Reduced 2nd shift scrap from 7 to 3% by involving Engineering and Quality departments to revamp standardized work, create boundary sample boards and provide rework tools. Developed a non-existent training program with a two day go, no-go evaluation. Our second shift line 1 team set and still holds the highest parts per shift record with only 1.3% scrap.
