Title : BOILER PARAMETER

CONTROL using PID Controllers.

Duration : 6 Months

Project Description :

Boiler is a closed vessel in

which given fluid is heated and

evaporated. The main function is to

convert water into steam at required

temperature. The basic elements are

described in this project.

PID stands for Proportional Integral &

Derivative. These controllers are

designed to eliminate continuous

operator attention. PID Controllers are

designed to automatically control a

process like flow, temperature, pressure.

Controller does this by changing

process input so that process output

agrees with desired result.

Essar Vizag Terminals Ltd: (Project Up-gradation & Operations) Automation Project Planning:

Discussions with Essar Engineering over design and field compatibility.

Discussions with Vendors/ Contractors for procurement & erection jobs

Discussions with Major vendors like ABB, Honeywell, Sandvik, Elecon, L&T, Ecodea, Essar Heavy Engineering for jobs on LOT basis.

Achieving the above targets with timely response and ease of erection

& commissioning & Documentation for the entire project. Automation Project Execution:

Up-gradation of a Relay based control system which has been modernized to PLC based automation with central control and monitoring system including up gradation of all old equipment to new equipment like Reclaimers, Stackers, Ship loader & Tipplers and developing all safety & monitoring systems for cargo handling. All relay based panels are replaced with Honeywell ML 200 PLC system inter connecting RIO panels at each electrical houses through dual redundant Fiber optic communication. Cable Laying from MCC & field to RIO panels & Commissioning Project monitoring for major jobs like Erection and Commissioning of 132kV MRSS, HT Switchboards and Dust suppression system.

Plant Operations:

Operating the 9kms conveyor system which includes RIO Cabins in each Electrical house on a SCADA platform based on a Honeywel ML-200 PLC system, achieving 90,000-1,00,000 Tons of shipment per day ensuring system healthiness and operating the SCADA system without causing operational delays with all related documentation, MIS Reporting, System maintenance. Etc.

At Mangalore Aromatic Complex as a PMC Engineer coordinating with all major contractors like L&T, GDCL, Thermax - CPP, Vatech Wabag

- DM Plant, Doshion Veolia Water Solutions - RWTP, Gactel Trunkey Projects – Cooling Tower, Hindustan Dorr Oliver - ETP, Airoil Flare gas. Hence major roles are to coordinate with all construction & commissioning activities with respect to project planning, execution, project quality and safety, documentation, resolving issues related to design w.r.t execution, material coordination & IMIR clearance to various vendors, billing of all subcontractors & vendors. PSV and Control valve calibration task, Verifying system formats and generating punchlists for liquidation and hence ensuring system completions. Larsen & Toubro Ltd :

Execution:

As a Lead Engineer, Planning engineer and Execution engineer handling a team of engineers providing necessary support in planning, material management, site execution and all closing formalities. Monitoring progress vs. planned target and discussing necessary steps to be taken to achieve the target, client coordination and safe & quality working procedures.
