Managed a monthly physical inventory involving a work in progress review, physical count input into the pc/MRP ERP system and post count variance analysis.

Completed all plant work order transactions.

Post close, provided Excel charts for: inventory change, scrap, days sales in inventory, days payable outstanding and days sales outstanding.

Formalized the shop rate calculation and completed a mid-year cost roll-up.

Designed an obsolescence report and recorded a year end reserve.

Led a production work order process redesign effort to accommodate a more accurate work in progress valuation. This project involved presenting Visio process flow diagrams to the plant’s administrative staff as well as management in an effort to gain adoption. Upon project completion, picklists and kitting processes were adopted and better control over inventory issued to manufacturing was achieved. Lastly, standard operating procedures and work instructions were completed for the new processes.

Developed a product cost review project. This project encompassed designing a bill of material model separate and distinct from a research and development engineering financial model. Comparisons were then made between the two models and discrepancies resolved. Upon year end, 48 products representing approximately 75% of the prior year’s sales volume were reviewed and corrected within pc/MRP.

Created a training plan, developed training materials, a work order checklist and spreadsheet tools for a newly hired operations clerk. This successful interactive teaching effort allowed me to delegate this function. Cost Accountant (Contract Position)
