Experience
28 years of experience in diagnostic and Interventional Radiology with Long working period (17 years) at King AbdulAziz Medical City & princess Nora Oncology Center, NGHA
-Jeddah, then (5 years) at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital – NGHA Madinah. These two National Guard Health Affaires centers are equipped by the latest advanced machine with a state of art department of radiology doing all kind of radiology and medical imaging procedures : plain x-ray, contrast fluoroscopy studies, all ultrasound studies with the most advanced color doppler investigations including vascular and MSK cases, CTscan studies with all sophisticated procedures including vascular and cardiac cases, MRI 1.5T with all of its advanced and latest sequences for all body parts.
The areas where I worked are very busy with high patient`s flow rate ( for example our work per day is about 25 CTscan scheduled examination per machine, 20 MRI Cases per machine, more than 75 patients a day in USD section, 10 mammography case per machine a day), although the patient flow rate is about 20-30 % less in PMBAH-Madinah but is enough to maintain the high quality work standard that I gained in my in KAMC – WR Jeddah. Working in these busy, scientific and high quality atmosphere allowed me to gain excellent experience and maintain my advanced and up to date knowledge in different aspect in Diagnostic and Interventional radiology, more particularly the oncology side which is the essential branch of both Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology (I was the department representative in our weekly GI tumor board meeting in our oncology center), huge number of all peripheral interventional procedures were effectuated successfully (very low complication rate in comparison to the international known standards) such as the vascular, non vascular and oncology from the most simple to the real advanced and complicated procedures (including; Angioplasty, Thrombolysis, embolization for Bleeding or tumoral, tumoral chemo- embolization or radio-embolization, Fibroid treatment, Sclerosing treatment, AVF maintenance, Dialysis catheter insertion, Stenting {Vascular and GI}, Vertebro/kuphoplasty, Biopsies, Drainage, Gastrostomy, hepatic / Renal and Bone Radio-Frequency Ablations, Aortic stent graft insertion…etc), in KAMC we had 2 angiography suites plus one additional interventional USD room, busy enough to do about 20 -25 patients a day doing all kind of interventional procedure, my role is to focus on the peripheral & oncology interventional procedure which was about 15-20 cases a day.
During these years all of us in both institutions participated heavily in medical student, residents and more particularly radiology residents education, I did many yearly base lectures for medical students at King Abdulaziz University – NGHA, I also involved heavily in training our resident in radiology department lecturing, following their work and monitoring their performance (obtained a certificate tutor of the Year 2002), also I conducted many scientific and case dissuasion meetings with other departments. To achieve and keep our success, every medical Imaging Department staff should be a team player, all are one spirit, working together to serve our patients professionally at the highest quality possible at all conditions, rest, stress or crises even in severe shortage, by applying the hospital policy and procedures up to the institute vision and mission. So, we could prepare our department to get the JCI and CEBAHI accreditations. 17 May 2020
