Hands – on measurement and analysis of all project data to identify defects and substantiate product improvement, using Minitab

Responsible for maintenance of the APQP and PPAP systems from design to production and from prototype to run-at-rate. FAIR

Responsible for aviation compliance to AS 9100 under Transport Canada including documentation, and training. Was the Shop Certified Authority (TC) for Norduyn.

Analyzed all production issues using FMEA, DOEs, Regression analysis etc.

Located and Audited new suppliers for metals/alloys and electrical connectors and PCBs for the European markets.

Worked with existing suppliers in China on the resolution of problems to avoid returns and to negotiate returns. Net result was that On-site inspections eliminated the need for product returns with a cost savings of over $500,000.

Through work projects with both suppliers and customers I was able to reduce Failure rate and increase productivity by 40%

Helped to expand the Production system to solve problems with long term storage and Handling. Worked to improve overall quality in the assembly department through training, equipment upgrade and JIT production. Liased with end-use customers.

Moved to China to improve on-site inspection and train inspectors and merchandisers. Managed QA and storage facilities for QA in New York.

Moved the assembly operation from Toronto to China. Set up the inspection system in the new facility and reduced the need for inspection in Canada. Overall costs were reduced by 25%.

Set up and maintained the ISO/TS 16949 quality system through automotive audits for GM, Chrysler and Ford in US and Canada

Set up and maintained the documentation and control system for the different stations involved in the powder coating operation.

I formalized the APQP system to use more FMEA, Control plans and PPAP.

Worked with the Tier 1 customers to reduce defects and product returns.

Worked with the Product development teams to improve processing equipment and trained inspectors in defect detection and segregation.
