QTerminals (Hamad Port)– Doha Qatar – Sr. Operations Planner 2019 Aug- Present

• Responsible for execution of operations plans during the shift with particular consideration to productivity, safe operations and efficient utilization of equipment and labor.

• Ensure that plans and strategies set for the shift are clearly communicated to and understood by the shift staff and peers within the shift.

• Work intimately with yard, vessel, gates and Customer Services to ensure smooth execution of shift plans.

• Coordinating with shipping line, vessel agent and fright forwards for import and export of container and cargo.

• Monitor and analyze shift productivity with benchmark KPIs and follow-up with operations and planners for corrective actions in case of any deviations from plan

• Maintaining continuity of planning process by maintaining proper recordings of events in shift log and ensuring smooth handing over to the incoming shift

• Assist the Planning Superintendent in preparation of long term schedules and plans of the terminal

• Participate and provide input to systems for the development of the TOS (Jade & Logstar)

• Monitoring the yard for any expected delays in the form of shifting & taking corrective action with the yard planner

• Responsibility that the rules and regulation issued by any governmental authority or regulatory body are observed and complied with

• Manage overtime for shift staff in planning operations Communicate requirements to other shift teams to ensure right amount of resources are maintained during peak and off peak periods of shifts.

• Maintain Operational Coordination during the shift with Customs and other government bodies assigned to the terminal.

• Train and coach operational personnel on standards and processes.

• Make quay side visit and ensure necessary physical equipment and systems, pertaining to the ship’s call, i.e., customs and immigration arrangements are in place.

• Ensure vessel EDI’s are correctly uploaded and tally with the inbound figures

• Planning the vessel berthing considering the yard situation and vessel cargo type

• Follow specified systems, processes and procedures, implemented in the workplace, to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and other requirements/standards

• Gather and receive necessary operational information from customers, information about equipment and location on terminals on daily basis.

• Administering any short landed / over landed cargo / units and advising the vessel supervisor on the further course of action.

• Sending TDR and Reports to line or agencies up on vessel completion

• Monitoring yard, inventory and to locate & update any discrepancies noted.
