J.K. Fenner (India) Limited is a member of the JK Organization which ranks among the top Industrial houses in India for over 100 years. The name “Fenner” has been synonymous with Mechanical Power Transmission and Sealing Solutions. Fenner commenced operations in India in 1929 and put up their first manufacturing unit at Madurai in Tamil nadu in the year 1956. Currently there are 7 manufacturing units over 5 locations.
The product lines cover V-Belts, Oil seals, Molded Rubber Components and Engineering Products for applications in both Industrial and Automotive mechanical power transmissions. The Industrial segment would address major sectors like Steel, Cement, Coal, Sugar, Power, Paper, Textiles, Food processing, Agriculture and many other.
• Preventive Maintenance and continual improvement of equipment’s like 250,100,150,200 Ton Press Machines, Injection moulding machines.
• Monitor the machine condition on daily basics such as any abnormal sound etc.
• Continuous improvements to overcome the breakdown.
• Basic knowledge of PLC.
• Utility maintenance and troubleshooting –substation (11 KV to 440V), DG (750 KVA,500KVA and 200KVA), Air compressor.
• Maintain record for Breakdown time (Availability,MTTR,MTBF )WHY - WHY Analysis .
• Maintain the Calibration certificate for all instruments.
• Continuous improvements to overcome the breakdown, root cause, analysis. HIGLIGHTS OF MAINTENANCE DEPT:
1. Continuous improvements to overcome breakdowns. 2. Implementing POKA YOKE for product realization:
Vacuum system made as an interlock. Machine will not run if vacuum is not reached as per the specifications.
Heater status monitor as an interlock. Machine will not run if heater alarm reached as per the specifications
3. Ensuring safety of shop floor workers:
Implemented safety light curtain for presses & other machines. Machine will not run if safety light curtain removed or not working.
4. Identifying & Maintaining critical spare and updating records as per the Audit requirements.
