Interventional Radiology Department

Foster relationships to build the new Interventional Radiology Department at Mount Sinai Queens.

oReach out to chairmen and directors of various departments throughout the hospital to in-service and educate members of those departments about procedures we offer in Interventional Radiology.

Assess and evaluate patients who may benefit from Interventional Radiology procedures.

oWhen requested, complete consultation of patient who may be an interventional radiology candidate and discuss with Interventional Radiology Attendings.

oHelp ensure patients are properly worked up and cleared for IR procedure.

oAssist Interventional Radiologist during procedure.

oMaintain detailed patient log of all those who have received care from Interventional Radiology.

oEstablish follow-up care of all inpatients and outpatients who underwent IR procedures.

Perform daily rounds on inpatients that have received treatment by Interventional Radiology.

oDiscuss patient’s progress as well as plan of care with Interventional Radiology attendings.

oPerform all necessary tasks to facilitate and expedite patient care, as per discussion with Interventional Radiologist.

oCommunicate plan with primary team and nursing staff.

Work alongside Interventional Radiologist in clinic.

oGather patient information such as history of present illness, past medical history, risk factors contributing to present illness as well as pertinent imaging to determine patient’s need for interventional procedure.

oDiscuss findings with Interventional Radiologist, pre-op when necessary and schedule for outpatient procedure.

oOn-call after hours to answer and address patient issues and concerns.

Community Outreach to develop the Interventional Radiology Department at Mount Sinai Queens.

oSpeak to providers in the local community to discuss treatment options offered by our department.

oParticipated in the Mount Sinai Queens - Long Island City Family Health Fair.
