Data Architect for an Enterprise Data Warehouse. Worked as a Senior Data Architect using ER/Studio, Sparx EA, and MS Visio on MS SQL Server, MySQL, and Snowflake and their associated tools. Wrote documents that comprised an analysis of the present state of the EDW and set standards to be followed by developers in terms of structures, documentation, testing, SDLC, and other parts of software creation. Modeled data requirement gathering and data profiling. Created Flow Diagrams, Entity Relationship Diagrams, both Logical and Physical, and Deployment diagrams. Analyzed and presented an analysis of Query Execution Plans of troublesome queries to developers and pointed out the issues and used this as a teaching opportunity for developers to understand better query writing techniques.

Worked as a Senior Data Architect using ERWin Data Modeler for SAP, Snowflake, Oracle, and MS SQL Server and associated tools for each RDBMS listed. Modeled data outlined by way of requirement gathering. Created Procurement, HR, and Ledger Dimensional Logical Models based on the aforementioned requirements. Subsequently, physicalized those Logical Models into Physical Data Models and its corresponding DDL for Snowflake.

5/18 – 6/19, State of Nevada, Carson City, NV

Data Architect in the Welfare Division’s Child Support Enforcement System. Worked as a Senior Data Architect using Toad Data Modeler, DB2, Oracle, MySQL, and MS SQL Server and associated tools for each RDBMS listed. Also, designed and modeled data from the requirements outlined in an RFP and Response. He also ported the objects to each of the RDBMS mentioned above. He created a fully Normalized(3NF) Logical Model based on aforenoted documents and requirements. He physicalized that Logical Model into a Physical Data Model and its corresponding DDL for each of the RDBMS. He created all those databases from Physical Data Models via forward-engineering. Loaded requisite reference data into the database via insert scripts based on ISO, FIPS, OCSE, USPS, and other standards.

Data Architect for a Corporate Data Warehouse. Worked as a Senior Architect using Erwin. SQL Server and SSIS. Created new ETLs via models, data profiling, and mapping from the existing production OLTP web-based application. Created extracts for Data Sources used in Tableau dashboards and worksheets.

Met with persons throughout the company to translate their requirements into specifications, formal requirements documents, data maps, models, and ETLs required to meet the company’s needs. Piloted a transfer of EDW into Redshift on AWS.

Data Architect, Modeler for an existing MCHS EDW. Reversed Engineered the existing ERD and analyzed Informatica and BODS processes to identify gaps, deficiencies, and relational model errors. Data Architect within an environment for modeling, developing, migrating, and administrating systems used in significant releases of databases, database objects, data marts, and reports for MGM Resorts International’s Data Warehouses; used Teradata, Oracle, MS SQL Server, and their associated languages and their tools. Also, created models generated through ERwin and deployed the resultant DDL. Managed project to deliver Hotel Reservation housed on an Oracle-based system using SSIS for staging on MS SQL Server and terminating into Teradata. Utilizing this technique allowed the building of join indexes, the building blocks for materialized views in Teradata used by Data Marts that mitigated an issue where the ETL was fully extant on Teradata, the Data Mart building via materialized views processing was non-performant. During the construction of this project Teradata tools employed were Parallel Load, FastLoad, MutiLoad, Visual Explain, Index Wizard, Statistic Wizard, System Emulation Tool, and Workload Management and Oracle’s SQL Developer and SQL Server’s SSIS, SSMS, SSRS, SQL-Diag, SQL Nexus, Performance Monitor and MS Visual Studio.

3/08-10/11 IGT, Reno, NV

Data Architect/DBA in an environment for modeling, developing, releasing, upgrading, and administrating systems used in significant releases of database objects and their corresponding Windows Services used to control gaming devices in large casino environments. Duties included building servers and maintaining development environments as well as patching applications, modeling new and existing databases and objects, writing Stored Procedures and T-SQL scripts, developing upgrade scripts, backups and recovery, job schedules, security, user, roles, and file maintenance. Also, participated in a team that tested and released IGT Systems into new casinos such as Aria and Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The production system incorporated EMC Symmetrix and Veritas Cluster Server and Net Backup. Also acted as DBA on a Baan 5c/MYSQL-Server/Windows 2000 system; ported various Sybase development systems to Oracle production systems. Production DBA support on a 24/7 basis, backup and restore databases, maintained user logins and passwords, maintained replications, schema and schedules, created test and QC environments and their refresh schedules, automated performance monitors to spot troublesome queries and computer performance issues before failures.

Technical Lead/Project Manager, the USA, and Pacific Data Warehouse Created all design documents, including ERDs, HLD, LLD, and code to incorporate customer classification data into the warehouse network.
