Reason for leaving: I started studying for my Paralegal Diploma and helped my children at school.
14 November 2016 – 28 February 2019
At first I was a telesaler, where I had accounts like most of the Spar’s, Checker’s and Pick n Pay’s. I did cold calling..
After 1 year I was offered to be the receptionist, where I took over the switchboard, and I was responsible for the cash n carry shop where we sell products over the counter like casings, bandsaw blades, spices, coatings etc.
I also became responsible to help customers over the counter as well as enquiries over the phone regarding products, spec sheets of the products, available stock, expiry dates and ordering of certain stock and giving updates to customers when the stock will arrive.
I went into the field to visit 80% of the Checkers in the areas of Pretoria East, Centurion and the West Rand and went into the kitchens where they made the ready to eat/buy meals and the butchery to see what products do they have of Deli Spices, and discuss the new products
Me and one of the sales representatives would often went to the kitchens to give and actually made the food.
We also went to Spar in Brits to make the most of our Boerewors and braaiwors range and cooked it and promote it the whole day to get more sales so we also did some marketing as well. We had give aways and promotions etc. The manager and kitchen staff of the store enjoyed it as much as we did and they invited and welcomed us back every time.
When I was more in the office as a Receptionist, sales lady in the cash n carry shop, office administrator, secretary, I sold a lot of products in my cash n carry shop to all the people that hunt in the hunting season from April – August.
I worked for about 3 sales representatives. I had to phone their customers to get orders, put the order through the system on Syspro, if the product is not available or have expired I had to phone them back to inform them about the situation as well as informing my direct customers.
I was responsible for the marketing material that came from our head office in Cape Town. If new marketing material arrived I had to make sure all the 9 sales representatives had to have the exact marketing material to give to their customers on promotion.
I also was responsible for our server room, if new printers or anything IT (Information Technology) arrived from our Head Office in Cape Town, I had to make sure the server room was available for them to install or to store.
I was responsible for small expo’s that was held at our premises. I had to order food, drinks, snacks, coffee and tea for the management team when they came from Head Office to have an expo at our offices, and I was responsible for the training facilities, if the staff of Spar and Checkers came for training on our products, I had to make the sure the facilities are clean, the trainees had manuals, stationary, snacks and coffee and tea and even lunch, I had to print certificates when they finished their training after 2/3 days.
I processed the tax invoices as well as quotations on Syspro 7.
Processes of sales order for customers to collect at our cash n carry shop.
Managing stock take at our cash n carry shop.

They send their orders to us at Head Office and I had to process them and make sure the stock goes out to the customers on the correct date, and also made sure what the expiry dates on the products was so that we can send it out on the correct date. The correct delivery dates was very important because otherwise the customer will not have stock and that made a huge difference in processing of the product.
Process tax invoices sales orders, quotations as well as credit notes on Pastel.
Then I was responsible for local customers confinement stock like Albany, Sunbake, Enterprise, Escort, Seemanns, Vaal, Nestle, local butcheries, etc. and also had to make sure that the Sales representative ordered the stock in time for the customer to get the stock in time.
I was responsible for a huge account like Mubex Pty Ltd in Mauritius that used Calcium Sulphate and Calcium Chloride to make Flying Fish Beer.
Also one of the biggest customers was SAB (the made the beer like Castle, etc). I had to check with the Sales Representative to order calcium sulphate and lactic acid to deliver to them in time for production.
I had walked in customers that bought logs and plaster (the type of plaster that was used to make basins and cornices and ceramic products). They wanted a specific grade of plaster for a specific product and also I supplied logs for local butcheries for smoking of their food products.
