An Efficient Pilot Design Scheme for Sparse Channel Estimation in OFDM systems(Oct 2015 –June 2016)
Description:
This project deals with the pilot placement problem for sparse channel estimation in OFDM
(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) systems. Compressed sensing technique can be successfully applied for pilot-aided sparse channel estimation in OFDM systems to reduce the transmitted overhead. However, the selection of pilot tones significantly affects channel estimation performance. So we need optimal pilot placement for sparse channel estimation, in the sense of minimum mean-square error of the channel estimation, through an exhaustive search of all possible pilot placements is extremely computationally intensive.
Distributed Seams For Gigapixel Panoramas (Jan 2014 - May 2014) Description:
Gigapixel panoramas are an increasingly popular digital image application. They are often created as a mosaic of many smaller images. The mosaic acquisition can take many hours causing the individual images to differ in exposure and lighting conditions. A blending operation is often necessary to give the appearance of a seamless image. The blending quality depends on the magnitude of discontinuity along the image boundaries.
