Application Support
Provides analysis and application support to Misys/Finastra wire processing system. This includes engaging clients to assess the problem, analyze and process information to understand the cause and resolution to the issues. Provides clients with an understanding of the application functional and technical process. Provide relevant information to internal teams, providing them an understanding of the reported concerns and to expedite application fix if needed. Perform periodic maintenance and testing of applications on remote servers, some residing on Azure servers.
Ingram Micro: February, 2016 – October, 2017
Application Developer II
Provide immediate system support to an inhouse warehouse system. Duties and responsibilities include analysis of user reported incidents to provide information on system behavior or resolution to system errors. Tasks also include performing bug testing and formulation of bug fix on application. Modules in application include COBOL and C where analysis involves code tracing and testing on multi platforms and multi programming languages. Scope of support also include analysis of possible system enhancements on existing processes as requested by clients. The system functionality includes product auditing, product movement and order completion. The system is comprised of an integration of COBOL mainframe, .NET and SAP, backend unix C and COBOL Microfocus COBOL RF interface and a warehouse UI built on Microsoft Visual C.

Team Lead
Job roles were based on the business need per project. Project designations are as follows:
I was designated into an infrastructure support role to provide the testing team a means to make use of the IBM Debug tool. The project was for a conversion of Assembler modules into C modules in mainframe. I was also tasked to assist in the development of REXX scripts to automate allocation of datasets and libraries as well as perform batch compile with option to compile certain modules in specific sequence. I provided the scripts used as automation tools for testers and developers. I was designated to a system support role to provide analysis on a bank loans system. The comprised of batch and online process built on mainframe PL\1. Task included Java development. The analysis task required checking of redundant module calls in the process and communicating resolution to business analyst team. Tasks also included creation of proposed resolution to stake holders.
I was designated as a technical design lead to enhance a card link interim process. I coordinated with the client to determine functionality as well as convert the requirements into a technical design. I performed the data gathering, technical research and was part of the group who that discussed the proposed system with client. The system also functioned as a load manager between client cards program and strategic cards program allowing switching from batch to online when online process is unavailable. The system filters transactions based on a client prepared scoring process which determines the validity of a transaction. Part of project scope included the module conversion of mainframe IMS calls into mainframe DB2. The project required creation of modules on both online and batch systems to use MQ calls and Coupling Facility to allow queuing of transactions. Project also included client discussion to validate functionality, creation of test scenarios to simulate actual processing. The role involved presenting technical training to team members on the technologies applied for easy system development and testing. The duration of the project included system deployment and maintenance with provision for an upgraded version.
Projects involved:
Wizard Modernization – project to convert Mainframe Assembler system into Mainframe C and to update IMS database into DB2 database. Scope of work involved analysis on proper use of IBM Debug Tool which was required to determine when registers changed in the system and replicate this into C code. Was responsible in providing REXX Scripts to automate dataset/library creation, copying and minor update of codes, batch compile with option to compile codes in sequence, and creation JCL necessary for compiling online and batch modules.
Scoring Server Client Application – project initiative to update an interim cards system by changing IMS calls into DB2, introduction of load manager and to allow processing of online transactions at a later time by when server is offline. Scope of tasks included data gathering and analysis to understand how the current process functions, research on technologies used and KT to the team members, creation of technical design, proposal of design, development of modules, testing and eventual deployment.
NCO Group: August, 2010 – August, 2012
Senior Systems Analyst
I performed a developer role to create modules for processing transactions built on a standard collections process. Scope of work involved maintenance, analysis and development of batch programs using Microfocus COBOL. The modules developed perform parsing of client data to be loaded into FACS database. The system process customer accounts, account receivables, reconciliation of transactions, data reversal, and report generation. In the duration of my stay, I have provided an optimized XML parser that reduced the time of processing XML by half.
CAI-STA: February, 2007 – December, 2008
Programmer Developer II
I performed tasks as a system support to a mainframe built Customer Order System. This system comprise of several sub systems from which each has a designated support developer. I was designated to support the subsystems for Forecast and Demand for Customers system, Customer Part Number cross reference system and IPS/TPS Inter-Company Purchasing System / (Transfer Pricing System).
The support scope included maintenance of system integrity by monitoring system abnormalities provided on a 24/7 shift. The task includes performing periodical batch runs to generate weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports to generate files.
I also took part as developer for the SAP DTO project which aimed to migrate data from mainframe database into online servers as part of a system enhancement. The project is based on transferring information through FTP by batch jobs. Tasks performed included development of COBOL and Easytrieve stored procs used to generate file for upload to designated servers. Our team was the first one to complete all requested enhancements.
Information Technology Solutions, Inc: January, 2005 – January, 2007
Programmer
I was trained for RPG/RPG ILE, CL, SEU, RLU COBOL400 for AS400. I performed system support roles for various clients including system analysis and module development.
Deployed to a banking client and provided analysis of client remittance system to locate input source of a variable pertinent in a client proposed enhancement. During deployment I have developed RPG modules to generate reports.
