Pediatrics Melrose Park Pediatrics
(05/06/19 to 05/31/19) Worked with pediatric patients, newborn to adolescent age, within a primarily Hispanic community. Managed both commonly acute and chronic pediatric diseases. Performed physical examinations, well checks, sports physicals, and various problem focused visits. Collected and evaluated Rapid Strep Tests as well as performed nebulizer treatments.
Psychiatry VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System
(03/18/19 to 04/19/19) Assisted in evaluating patients with various psychiatric diseases. Conducted thorough interviews as part of the psychiatry consultation team. Collaborated on appropriate medical management, both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic. Wrote consultations, progress, and SOAP notes. Followed up with patients throughout stay in psychiatric unit.
Internal Medicine Primary Care Partners of Monroeville - UPMC
(02/11/19 to 03/15/19) Performed annual adult and geriatric well visits. Managed patients with various comorbidities, particularly hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia. Performed pelvic examinations and pap smears. Evaluated and treated same day visits for acute concerns. Referred patients for appropriate diagnostic studies and provider follow-ups.
Women’s Health UPMC Magee Emergency Department – Women’s Hospital
(01/07/19 to 02/08/19) Performed abdominal ultrasounds and measured fetal heart rates. Regularly evaluated and managed patients with a chief complaint of abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding, both pregnant and non-pregnant patients. Performed numerous pelvic and bimanual examinations. Obtained samples for vaginal infections and STI testing. Performed I&Ds using sterile technique. Consulted with OB team to co-manage pregnant patients.
Surgery UPMC Mercy
(11/19/18 to 12/14/18) Scrubbed in as first and second assist in various surgeries on vascular, thoracic, and general surgery services. Performed suturing and stapling in the OR. Rounded and evaluated patients pre- and post-operatively. Reviewed and interpreted radiographs and CT scans. Collaborated with surgical team to develop post-operative plans.
Family Practice Heritage Valley Medical Group
(10/01/18 to 11/16/18) Completed annual well visits while simultaneously managing a variety of diagnoses, especially diabetes and hypertension. (08/27/18 to 09/28/18) Evaluated and treated patients with a variety of dermatologic diseases including but not limited to atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurative, acne vulgaris, molluscum contagiosum, and hemangiomas. Performed full body skin examinations for skin cancer screenings. Educated patients on appropriate treatment including the ABCDE’s of skin lesions. Performed cryotherapy on patients with various skin lesions. Observed shave, excisional, and punch biopsies.
Cardiology Washington Health System – Cardiovascular Care
(07/16/18 to 08/17/18) Interpreted various cardiac diagnostic studies including CXRs, ECGs, nuclear stress tests, TEEs, TTEs, and cardiac angiograms. Observed cardiac catheterization procedures, TTEs, TEEs, and cardioversions. Obtained initial intake for cardiology consultation team. Collaborated with other consultation teams to manage cardiac patients with various comorbidities.
Emergency Medicine UPMC – Passavant Emergency Medicine
(06/04/18 to 07/13/18) Evaluated, treated, and managed patients with common ED complaints including chest pain, shortness of breath, lacerations, fractures, and geriatric falls. Interpreted various diagnostic studies such as CXR’s, ECG’s, CTs, radiographs, and ultrasounds. Analyzed laboratory studies and consulted with other medical disciplines to help further manage patients. Placed numerous sutures and staples using sterile technique. Admitted patients to the hospital for further management.
