Position: Surgical Physician Assistant
My supervising physician is a General-Vascular-Thoracic Surgeon. My responsibilities include first-assisting in surgery, evaluating all new patients in the office, reviewing films on surgical patients and performing daily rounds. The practice was John M. Clarke, MD, PA from 11/01 – 12/10. We joined Bay Surgical Specialists 1/11 – 9/15 and now Palms Surgical Associates since 10/15. Yearly, I first assist in over 500 major operations. I function as a liaison between operating rooms, our office and my supervising physician. My greatest contribution is my ability to organize and manage our time to include scheduled operations, rounds, return phone calls, placement of central lines, and placement of chest tubes, consults and research of complex patients.

Tampa, FL
Position: ER Physician Assistant
While working as a Surgical Physician Assistant I moonlighted in the Emergency Room on weekends. I treated patients in Pediatric - Minor Care. While specializing in surgery, the emergency room experience allowed me to expand my medical knowledge in preparation for my national re-certification exam.

Position: Physician Assistant
My supervising physician was a Non-Invasive Cardiologist and Internist. My responsibilities included diagnosing and treating patients, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, and providing follow-up of ongoing medical conditions throughout the clinics. Our clinics included a rural health clinic, internal medicine office, cardiovascular clinic and nursing home. The majority of my time was spent in the clinics without direct supervision. At the rural health clinic, the nearest acute facility was thirty miles away. I would average twenty to twenty-two patients daily including walk-ins, laceration repairs, pelvic exams, and routine follow-up of patients. My supervising physician was also Co-Medical Director of a nearby sixty bed ECF. At this facility I was on-call twenty-four hours a day seven days a week for my patients and would spend a half day every week rounding and addressing any acute problems.
