Lawrence General Hospital (LGH), Lawrence, Massachusetts (8/2017- to date) I am currently working as a hospitalist in LGH- while serving my 3yr waiver program. The challenge in practice here often lies in patient education, identification of barriers to continued treatment and follow up plans as the community is medically complex and has poor insurance coverage. The ills of opioid epidemic and other substance abuse are often seen and it is humbling as a physician to recognize circumstances truly beyond the scope of training. We have an excellent staff and paraclinical social workers and case managers who help us work with our community. I am also involved in directly teaching residents working with the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center –Family Medicine program based at LGH.

Transplant Nephrology Fellowship, Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Michigan (7/2016 – 7/2017) One-year fellowship dedicated to learning the finer details in Kidney, Pancreas and Simultaneous Liver Kidney Transplants transplant. At Henry Ford Hospital, there are about 110+ kidney only transplants every year including deceased and live donors. I was involved in all steps of the transplants- right from assessing and evaluation of patients and donors for suitability, to observation of procedures and procurements at Gift of Life procurement center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to post transplant follow up of patients and donors. I was also part of multidisciplinary meetings, weekly and monthly presentations and updates including journal clubs, Morbidity and Mortality meets and Grand rounds for faculty and colleagues. Nephrology Fellowship, VCU Medical Centre, Richmond VA (7/2014 -6/2016) VCU Medical center is a premier medical institute in the US and its Department of Nephrology is ranked highly in the country. It in one of the largest tertiary care centers. I had the opportunity to see a multitude of patients, in both outpatient and inpatient setup afflicted with kidney disease allowing me exposure with rotations at the Mcguire VA Medical Center, Richmond VA. I was involved in care ranging from management of Chronic Kidney Disease from various etiologies, institution of Dialysis, both Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis and also Renal Transplant patients. VCU has one of the largest critical care service in the region and has dedicated Neuro, Cardiac, Surgery, Medicine ICU,Burn ward. Patients on LVADs,ECMO,CRRT were frequently followed by our service under the esteemed guidance of our attendings. HDL Project

(7/2015 – 7/2016)

Worked on HDL project- designed to study how HDL efflux mechanisms differ in CKD and CAD patients with respect to controls, to determine how effluxed cholesterol is utilized by hepatocytes and whether there is any co-relation between the severity of CAD /CKD with the efficiency of efflux utilization by hepatocytes TANU DUGGAL
