INTERESTS

Music (Guitar, piano, ukulele), cooking, travelling, designing, creating, fitness, meaningful conversations, animals, finance.

Skills

Adaptability

I was born in Malaysia and decided to go to the UK in September 2019 to complete my final year of my bachelor’s degree. Due to the cultural difference, there were some communication barriers in which the locals find it hard to understand my words. Hence I forced myself to engage in more conversations with the locals, managed to improve on my articulation of words and scored First class grades on presentations.

Work ethic

In my musical career, I took examinations for Level 4, Level 6, Level 7, and Level 8. In my opinion, the difficulty increments from Level 4 to Level 6 and Level 7 is not huge, but the gap from Level 7 to Level 8 is enormous. Therefore, I forced myself to practice at least 2 hours every single day to make sure I understand the songs entirely. Consequently, I passed the Level 8 examinations with a distinction.

Teamwork

As a musician I played in a guitar ensemble. This required a regular commitment to group rehearsals. In rehearsals, all band members have to listen carefully to each other and constantly adjust because every role is important and unique. During the examination, each member supported each other, and all members performed at our best.

Flexibility

During my trip to Milan and Barcelona, I received an email asking for an online interview which will be held during my trip. Due to the fact that this is a backpacking trip, I was not ready and did not have any formal clothing prepared for the interview. I decided that this interview is very important to me and proceeded to buy a new shirt and tie for the occasion. I successfully proceeded to the next stage of the hiring process.

Time management

Being a student, university assignments are often time consuming. So, in order to make time for my music and designing hobby, I had to construct a routine that centralizes on my lectures and follow it with discipline. Because of that, I am able to spend time on each of those areas daily and even have a little extra time to invest in new projects such as learning programming languages.
