RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

1.Investigation of the Upshot of Processing Constraints in Machining of Inconel 718 using Carbide Inserts. (2019-2020).

Project description-

The principal attempt is to use various multi-layered tool inserts namely Tungsten carbide inserts coated with TiN and TiCN to find the best machining condition to machine a Super Alloy Inconel 718 by studying various parameters like MRR, chip thickness, tool wear, surface roughness, machining time, and cutting force.

Study of the effects of various process variables on residual stresses in machining of super alloys.

Optimisation of the effect of various process variables on residual stresses.

Compare and correlate the effect of residual stress on using Titanium Carbide and multi-layered inserts and find the most suitable machining conditions to machine Super Alloy Inconel 718.

2.Experimental study and Finite Element Analysis of the impact of Tool Edge Geometry in Orthogonal Machining of Super Alloy Inconel 718. (2018-2019)

Project description-

Orthogonal machining test on Inconel 718 have been conducted to examine the impact of the edge geometry in machining outputs like surface roughness, machining forces, temperature and tool wear.

The effect of process parameters are also studied on the above mentioned outputs.

This paper is mainly focused to compare the machining outputs before and after modification of tool insert geometry.

RESEARCH SKILLS

Techniques: Analysis of images in Machine Vision System and Image analyzer software. Prediction and validation of the surface roughness using the Surface Roughness Tester. Using XRD method to find the Residual Stress in the workpiece. Simulation of the machining process using AdvantEDGE Workbench.
