Also supervising all boiler and pressure piping coming off units, including secondary and trim piping for boiler supply and returns from HRSG unit to steam drum, blow down, vents, ammonia, nitrogen, hot gas, and recirculation fans. Coordinate quality control inspections, NDE (nondestructive testing), including all VT’s, (visual tests), UT’s
(Shear Wave), and RT’s, (radioactive “x-rays”). All punch lists, steam and heat tracing, pwht (post weld heat treat), hydro’s(pressure testing with water), painting, insulating, and instrumentation will be done on schedule, in correct order, and done according to correct code, ASME section 1, B31.1, or B31.3. As of to current date, on or ahead of schedule. All union crafts working together with good coordination and planning. Also using some union craftsmen together in “composite” crews to utilize craft specific skills in a combined, productive, and safe manner. Currently developing a team of journeyman representatives from each craft to do a weekly safety tour/walk to note and make suggestions/corrections to current and potential safety issues.
