(Valvoline Cummins India Pvt. Ltd.) Automation of lubricant manufacturing process.
• Project was mainly based on the run time analysis of the machine so as to see the run time of the machine and the production rate so that we are able to know the efficiency of the machine.
• The analysis of the whole filling line by counting the number of cartons packed is the objective of the project.
• There were two compressors in the utility section, which provides the compressed air to the process which required more energy supply to run. The consumption of the energy was very high which was not profitable in accordance with the production of same process.
• To minimize this energy consumption VFD was introduced in the compressor section, which was interface with the compressors motor.
• VFD is nothing but the Variable Frequency Drive which varies the frequency without changing its electric supply. Electric supply passes through the VFD, where it reduces its frequency but it doesn’t affect the speed of the compressor motor hence it gives efficiency as before. This energy consumption is proportional to the profit. Thus we analyzed the loss and profit of the company.
