1.Ministry of Defence Engineering services, Oman -2010 August – Present

The main role of MODES is provide total support to the sultan Armed Forces through

uncombat Technical Services such as Electro-Mechanical & Civil engineering support. MODES is responsible for Construction, Operation & Maintenance of Military Camps, Defence plants & machineries, and various installations which includes

to provide Electro-Mechanical and Civil facilities such as connecting Roads, Prime utility services like Electric Power, water and Sewage etc.

Water Distribution Engineer (Officer Gr-06)

Designing of piping and pumping system (calculations of H,Q,NPSH, selection of valves and specials).

Designing and supervising Water Distribution Network.

Preparation of Tender documents, BOQ, Engineer’s estimation for mechanical & electrical works.

Preparation of Scope of work and Tender Evaluation Report for M&E work.

2.Ministry of National Water Supply & Drainage Board,-Sri Lanka

Greater Kandy Water Supply Project

2007 – August 2010 ( NJS- Consultant )

Greater Kandy Water Supply Project has been designed to provide treated potable water to a population of 700,000 people living in Kandy, the second largest city in Sri Lanka and surrounding areas. This is a massive project involving 05 service reservoirs, 07 pumping stations including installation of 15 sets of pumps, supply and laying of DI transmission mains and distribution lines extending to about 330km.

Mechanical Engineering Asst

Duties and responsibilities included

Designing and preparation of BOQ.

Pump Selection (high capacity), Pumps installation.

Water and Waste water design and maintenance.

Material Approval as per BS /Code of practice.

Preparation tender documents, Engineer’s Estimate of mechanical & electrical works.

Preparation of Tender Evaluation Reports.

Supervision of excavation and backfilling for pipe laying

Safety arrangements during pipe laying to ensure public safety and road safety

Non revenue Water (NRW) prevention programme, quality assurance of valves, water meters, gate valves, ball float valves, pipe burst test, fittings

Preventive and breakdown maintenance pumps, water meters, ball float valves

Handling ultrasonic flow meter (US300PM)

Team Leader for leak detection (micro digital correlator, palmer)

Rectified the high friction A3 pumping system 12 km line at kahawatha to run at very low efficiency. Detect the exact location where the fault existed and bring back the pumping system to run at full efficiency as the result of this, I served to the Greater Kandy Water Supply Project more than Two Million Rupees Annual losses, as shut down of the pump for removal and replacing the impeller has been averted.

3.ABA Est. Pepsi Cola, Qatar – July 2004 – August 2007

ABA Beverages Division is the first and only production plant in Qatar. It is a fully automated plant with high speed line capability to produce Pepsi Cola and other carbonated soft drinks.

Production Supervisor

Responsible for the day to day smooth operation of the production plant and utilities capable of producing a rate of 48,000 cans per hour.

Maintenance and troubleshooting of production machineries and utilities (eg. SIG Fillers – can and bottle, SMI packer, PAL Palletizers and De-palletizers, boilers, compressors)

Maintaining of quality and quantity of raw material for the daily production

In-charge of water treatment plant (R.O) in order to maintain the PEPSI COLA INTERNATIONAL standard

Responsible for maintaining safety measures throughout the plant according to company policies and procedures

Preparing and presenting the daily production reports to Production Manager

Responsible for allocating skill and unskilled workers for the production schedules

Worked closely with equipment suppliers (SIG, SEDEL and SMI) for installation and commissioning of the new plant, PET bottle blowing/filling and NRB bottle production

Responsible for production shift scheduling in order to achieve required day to day sales target

Achieved production targets within time/costs given by the company.

4.National Dairy Plant – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – 1996 April to 2003 August

National Food Plant is a leading company involved in producing food, dairy products and industrial farming in Saudi Arabia. It has various distributions centers all over Saudi Arabia.
