: During my first (6) months in the project, I was assigned at pre-cast fabrication yard being responsible in fixing reference survey points to be utilized in checking out line and grade of pre-cast concrete piles, manhole cubes, walls, columns and beams.

: Due to the urgent requirements of surveyor in other division, I was transferred to Runway department being responsible in setting-out line and grade of paving and all underground service utilities mainly the airfield ground lighting conduit such as the inset and elevated lights.

: Setting-out design position and level of transformer pit, primary and secondary duct bank interconnecting from pit to pit.

: Involved in setting-out centerline and edges of runway, taxiways and exit taxiway by fixing steel pin on the ground at every full station.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

: Established design grade elevation of embankment, sub-grade, base- coarse and asphalt pavement.

: Setting-out alignment and level of all underground service utilities such as telephone and electric cable trench.

: Setting-out alignment and level of all structures such as bridges, underpasses, Interchange, RCPC and RCBC.

: Giving instruction and guidelines to other survey team regarding the proper setting out procedure of roads, earthworks and structures especially the centerline of road curves, establishment of finish grade elevation for every layer of embankment and base coarse material.

: Compute design elevation of sub-base, base-coarse, binder-coarse, wearing coarse and super elevation grades at every full station for surveyor’s reference and record.

: If necessary assist the quantity surveyor in the computation of actual accomplishment of earthworks and structures every month for purposes of monthly certificate or payment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

: Estimate actual quantity of earthworks accomplished by the contractor for billing purposes.

: Checked actual quantity of earthworks based on the approved pre- construction survey undertaken by the contractor.

: Measures and verifies contractors profile, cross-section, structures layout including references and established temporary benchmark for each structure.

: Conducts periodic checked-up of constructed embankment, sub- base, sub-grade and base-coarse materials.

: Determining the need for change order, extra work orders during construction based on the actual field condition.

: Prepares re-alignment, raise of grades and re-design if necessary to suit actual field condition.

: Assist in the preparation of cost estimate and price
