Associate Controller 2010-2013

Responsible for creating and maintaining the University’s tuition charge tables, processing tuition and reconciling registration data with revenue. Assistant Controller 2001-2010

Have led and directed the efforts of as many as four professionals: senior accountant, staff accountant, payroll associate and accounts payable bookkeeper partnering with the Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid, Purchasing, Systems and HR departments to best serve our learner community. My team is responsible for maintaining and reconciling the general ledger, financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, annual financial statement audit process and compliance reporting (1099-Miscs, 1098Ts, 990). Facilitated the automation of federal student loan funds processed via PowerFaids for import into AR and GL. Wrote desktop procedures for cash management, budget maintenance and accounts payable functions including several files transfer protocols from third-party software vendors, banks and other SIS modules into and out of an AS400 database thus reducing manual data entry by as much as 70%.

Budget Director 1991-2001

Authored the budget program and trained department managers and academic deans on annual budget preparation. Wrote and prepared monthly variance reports and trained users to become better stewards of University assets. Authored the Travel Policy still in effect today.

Staff Accountant 1989-1991

Responsible for monthly adjustments to the GL from all Business Office modules: AR, AP, Payroll, Purchasing and Fixed Assets. Wrote Excel macro to sort/print a multi-paged source document used for entry of daily cash receipts.

Hoxworth Blood Center/1985-87
