Extensive design knowledge of power distribution panels, utilization equipment, LRU’s, seats, PSU’s, ship wires, monuments and instrumentation. I have worked the entire cycle of a product from estimating engineering hours, studying contractual obligations, preliminary design, tooling requirements, Kaisen studies, testing, FAI, MRB, liaison, and post production modifications. I have worked with a wide variety of materials, parts and processes to design and document certifiable, compliant, airworthy products that meet or exceed the customers performance requirements. I have worked in new design, major modifications and sustaining efforts in high production volume and one or two aircraft modifications.

Software used: SolidWorks, CATIA V5, CATIA V4, AutoCad (2D only), CadKey, Enovia PLM, SmarTeam, MS Office.

Airframes: MD10 DC10 KC10 A350 A380 B787 B777 B747 B767 B737 E2-D UH-60M S-92 CH-47D BB609 G5 E190-E2 E195-E2 E175-E2 UCASS G550.

Work Experience Highlights:

Present Safran Electrical and Power, Everett, WA. At the Tukwila facility I am one member of an engineering team providing engineering services to the OEM. As a wire harness installation engineer and PI zone owner I coordinate extensively with other engineering design zone owners and with other systems to crate an EWIS compliant product. Using tools such as CATIA V5, ENOVIA PLM, IVT and info from functional schematics, wire diagrams and logical point data I create and rout WHA’s in 3D and also considering many competing electrical and mechanical specifications. I Contribute my knowledge and expertise to ensure my teams success in this fast paced, ITAR, major modification program.

August 2017 - June 2018 Gulfstream, Savannah, GA Electrical Harness Installation Group, Special Missions. Designed all forms of bracketry and used different hardware to facilitate the installation of harnesses, coax cables and feeders. Coordinated closely with structures and stress to design the best solutions to very complex installation situations within the cabin and outside the pressure envelope in high vibration and extreme temperature swamp zones of the aircraft. Used Catia V5 Generative part design / sheet metal & Smarteam to detail installations on this ITAR major modification program.

April - July 2017 Lockheed Martin, Palmdale Ca. (NO Secret Clearance) Studied NAVAIR air vehicle performance specifications for an un-maned air system UCASS. Preliminary effort to locate power distribution equipment, mission equipment and wiring.

February 2015 – July 2016 Zodiac OEM Cabin and Structures, Santa Maria, CA. Cabin overhead lighting harness routing and installation. Spotlights, emergency lights, washlights, exit sign and markers on ceiling panels and door surrounds. Used Catia V5 (no electrical workbenches) for 3D modeling, AutoCad 2004 for harness assy drawings and wire diagrams and Smarteam for release mechanism. EWIS standards.

June 2014-February 2015 Zodiac Seats US, Gainesville, TX. B777, B787, A350.

IFE installation and harness routing. Used Catia V5 Electrical Workbenches and SmarTeam to design IFE/wiring installations within the seats and provide wire lengths for the Z300 and Z938 Concept D seats. Considered Boeing D6-36230, Zodiac WPS’s, Airbus requirements, Panasonic EDP10004, Precilec and ARINC 628 requirements to design for this very dynamic MBD manufacturing environment. Represented Electrical engineering on the assembly line to aid and advise during the fabrication process.

April 2012 – Oct. 2013 Structural Integrity Engineering, Chatsworth CA. MD10 / DC10.

STC and major modification. Power distribution system, electrical diagram modifications (AutoCad), re-packaged equipment panels, wire routing and installations (Catia V5), drafted drawings, EO’s, AEO’s, wire kits, equipment list, hook-up list, termination list and EA’s. Worked at the MRO in Victorville, CA. to aid and advise during the fabrication process to obtain conformity and certification. Knowledgeable with electrical component specs, hardware specs, Boeing DMS, DPS, SRM, SID, AD and service bulletins.

April 2007 – May 2010, April 2011 - Aug. 2011 C&D Zodiac and Driessen Zodiac, Garden Grove, CA. A380 and B737

C&D Zodiac. A380 stairs and PSU‘s. Designed wiring, harness routing, oxygen installation, equipment installations, ceiling panels, closeout panels, spot light shrouds, tread and risers, support beams, decorative laminates, support fairings, lay-up parts, child hand rails, sconces, bezels, and various machined and formed metal parts using composite panels, aluminum alloys and stainless steel. PSU / ASU, designed variations of the air outlet panels, information panels, infill panels, emergency medical panels, logo lighting, galley lighting and special panels. MRB team member, witness to certification testing per DO-160 and performed verification testing.
