EXPERIENCE

Be A Maker Club Upland, California

Product Engineer (Internship) May 2020 – Present

• Assist machine engineer in the manufacture and design of a 3D mini printer, improving the design and ease of assembly for future iterations.

• Strategize implementation of an in-house test manufacture plan, developing insights into recycling PET water bottles and 3D printer materials.

• Perform material assessments for the design of a 3D printer, assisting the manufacturing team in process plans, supply chain identification, project management and developing R&D technical information. National Museum of Nature and Science Ibaraki, Japan Student Intern Jun. 2019 – Jul. 2019

• Manufactured and implemented special traps, increasing the efficiency of collecting horned beetles from their natural landscapes.

• Comprehended the physiology of horned beetle through dissection and SEM microscopy, generating insights into the microstructure of the beetle’s exoskeleton and the development of novel engineering materials.

• Initiated biomimetic and bioinspired principles to understand the orientation of fibers in the biological composite samples and derive engineering materials, improving the fracture of toughness and strength-to-weight ratio. Tokyo Denki University Tokyo, Japan

Student Intern Jun. 2019 – Jul. 2019

• Harvested horn samples from collected beetles and implemented specially prepared fixtures and epoxy resin to prepare the horn sample for cantilever bending test, resulting in the development of a novel system that can test biological materials.

• Experimented with samples and collected data from the displacement sensors at various projections on the horn, leading to a better understanding of how the biomaterial reacts to stress from different angles.

• Computed the fracture resistance of the horn, determining it to be resilient compared to the engineering materials. National Institute of Technology Surathkal, India

Research Intern Aug. 2017 – May 2018

• Innovated designs and mechanisms for various applications in biology and prosthetics, developing a novel mechanism for crawling robots and novel wheelchair mechanism for prosthetic patients.

• Strategized the analytical model of motion in snake robots and compared it with the simulation model, generating an efficient design model and improving the current state-of-the-art snake robot mechanism.

• Researched the design cognition of both general and specialized mechanisms in nature, gaining valuable insights to drive engineering designs and how they can be further translated into future engineering research. Intern, IFB Automotive Pvt. Ltd Bengaluru, India

Student Intern May 2016 – Jul. 2016

• Brainstormed features on state-of-the-art, automotive seat recliners, improving design through research and analysis software.

• Analyzed production practices, innovating cleaner procedures through research phases and fine blanking production processes. Volvo Construction Equipment Bengaluru, India

Intern (Production Department) Nov. 2015 – Jan. 2016

• Collaborated with production department, providing technical support at various stages in the production of construction vehicles.

• Analyzed the production operations and assembling techniques of road and construction machinery, leading to better comprehension of how Kaizen and Volvo Production Systems (VPS) function.

• Communicated with engineers in the production, testing and the maintenance departments and tested vehicles with similar operation and assembly features, generating better comprehension into the mechanics of automotive engine operations.

• Authored a technical report on VPSs, obtaining valuable insights into the efficiency of VPSs and how they can be further improved. EDUCATION
