RESEARCH Title: Fire Suppression System in the Aircraft Engine
EXPERIENCE Clean sky’s EFFICIENT project promoted by AIRBUS, to design, develop, manufacture and test an environmentally viable Halon-free fire suppression system which will reduce environmental impact by reducing weight and lowering aircraft CO2 and NOx footprint. In my thesis I am considering Nitrogen gas as a replacement to Halon. By using CFD, agent distribution inside the aircraft engine is predicted and the test results are compared with the Halon. Various experimental tests were also conducted in the Rig and the results and information obtained from this testing are crucial to assess the fire suppression objective.

RESEARCH Title: Stress and Fatigue Analysis for a Turbine Rotor of a Turbo Shaft Engine
The turbine rotor is the most critical component in a gas turbine engine, as it develops the power to drive the compressor and other accessories. In this study, the structural integrity of rotor blade is ascertained by carrying out a stress analysis using Finite Element software ANSYS by applying suitable boundary conditions and loads to determine the fatigue critical stress. The theoretical calculation of Disc and Blade stress are compared with the result of FEM model to determine the appropriate material for the rotor.
