Description: The L3 Database team provides Level 3 database support to production environments in USA. The Database group is chartered with the role of providing on call support for MSSQL, Oracle & Sybase database management systems (DBMS). This project is into providing L3 on call Sql server production support for 1000 plus production servers.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and troubleshooting SQL Jobs.

Worked on the space requirement of data, checking the data & log file growth.

Monitor and managing event viewer.

Documentation of day to day problems and solutions.

Working on the alerts generated from various production servers. The basic alerts would be Disk capacity Full, Log Full, Blocking, Deadlock, Server Down, Database suspect, SQL job failures, Logshipping out of sync, Memory Alerts Etc.

Monitor and troubleshoot SQL Performance using Perfmon, Profiler, and system tables

Monitor, analyze and troubleshoot SQL server concurrency issues like blocking and deadlocks using system tables and DMVs. Provide feedback on code improvements to app teams whereever applicable.
