KNPC, TO MEET THE COUNTRY’ ENERGY DEMAND ENVISAGES TO BUILD AN LNG TERMINAL OF 3000 BBTU/DAY CAPACITY WITH PROVISION TO INTEGRATE THE NATURAL GAS PRODUCT FROM THE TERMINAL WITH THE EXISTING GAS DISTRIBUTION NETWORK IN THE COUNTRY. I AM RESPONSIBLE TO LAISE WITH M/S AMEC FOSTER WHEELER, IBERIA IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A FEED PACKAGE FOR THE PROJECT. AS PART OF FEED WORK, TECHNOLOGY SELECTION RFOR THE KEY EQUIPMENT OF THE LNG TERMINAL, GAS DUCT SIMULATION STUDY COVERING ALL FUEL INPUTS AND CONSUMER REQUIREMENTS. THE NEW REFINERY PROJECT IS A 615,000 BPD REFINERY WITH MULTIPLE TRAINS OF CRUDE DISTILLATION UNITS, RESIDUE DESULFURIZATION UNITS, HYDRO TREATERS. HYDROGEN PRODUCTION & RECOVERY UNITS, SULFUR RECOVERY FACILITIES, UTILITIES & OFFSITES.

MY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE IN DEVELOPMENT OF APPROPRIATE UNIT DESIGN BASIS, PLOT PLAN DEVELOPMENT, FEED DEVELOPMENT THROUGH PMC, PFD, P&ID REVIEWES, HAZOPS REVIEW, REVIEW OF ENGINEERING DOCUMENTS DURING EPC STAGE, TRANSLATION OF OPERATING BEST PRACTICES INTO FACILITIES DESIGN CONCEPTS, PREPARATION OF STAFFING & TRAINING PLANS, DEVELOPMENT OF COMMISSIONING PLANS, REVIEW OF OPERATING MANUALS ETC. MY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED PROCESS ENGINEERING SUPPORT IN THE COMMISSIONING OF REFINERY FACILITIES AND PROCESS DESIGN OF REFINERY RESTORATION FACILITIES AFTER IRAQI INVASION.

MAJOR ASSIGNMENTS ARE:

REVAMP PROJECTS OF CRUDE DISTILLATION, VACUUM RERUN, HYDROGEN PRODUCTION, DELAYED COKER, SULFUR RECOVERY, STEAM GENERATION FACILITIES.

AS DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER, I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR OPERATION, MAINTENANCE OF THE FACTORY. DURING MY SERVICE WITH THIS COMPANY, THE PLANT CAPACITY WAS INCREASED TO 147% OF ITS DESIGN CAPACITY WITH NO ADDITIONAL INVESTMENT.

HALDIA REFINERY WAS A NEW GRASS ROOTS REFINERY AND AS PRODUCTION ENGINEER, I WAS A MEMBER OF THE COMMISSIONING TEAM OF REFINERY LUBE OIL COMPLEX AND OFFSITES UNITS AND LATER, SHIFT IN CHARGE OF OPERATION FOR THE LUBE OIL COMPLEX, COMPRISING OF VACUUM DISTILLATION UNIT, PROPANE DEASHPALTING UNIT, FURFURAL EXTRACTION UNIT, SOLVENT DEWAXING UNIT, LUBE HYDROFINISHING UNIT, BITUMEN BLOWING UNIT AND VISBREAKER UNITS.
