KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Developed University of Southern Nevada @ St. Rose Dominican Hospital to provide added capacity for nursing students.

Centralized the HR functions to develop a one stop shopping model within the Nevada Market area for three hospitals

Developed a collaborative work relationship through the development of committees to work with SEIU

Established a recruitment process targeted at fast-track hiring to on board RN’s. Designated as a Best Practice within Catholic Healthcare West System with an annual estimated savings of $3.2 million.

Established an internal career center directed at the organization’s ability to “groom & grow” staff. This program was designed to positively attract and retain staff. This program was ultimately named a “Best Practice” in the Catholic Healthcare Initiatives System.

Established a state of the art human resource function that produced policies, new handbooks, coordinated training associated with new policies ensuring that management and staff understood those policies for which they would be held accountable. This clarity helped improve employee satisfaction with staff having a better understanding of what they were accountable for.

Enhanced supervisors understanding of legal requirements as they relate to Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA - payment of overtime etc.) thereby dramatically reducing the organizations exposure to Department of Labor investigations.

Responsible for writing, communicating and administering Affirmative Action Plans (AAP) that passed Office of Federal Contract Compliance Program (OFCCP) on site audits. This was the first AAP developed within the organization as a result of federal reimbursements.

Assisted in the design, implementation and conversion to a Paid Time Off (PTO) system, which better controlled/monitored employee non-productive time.

Maintained budgetary accountabilities for staffing, benefits and organization recognition and recreation programs.

Realigned and re-engaged organization with the communities it served while ensuring that the diversities of the communities were reflected throughout the organization.

Assisted in reducing the number of employees per adjusted occupied bed from 5.9 FTE to 4.6 FTE through the seamless implementation of retirement programs, voluntary/involuntary reductions in force and monitoring of attrition.

DeKalb Medical, Decatur, Georgia 2013 – Jan. 2018

These functions include employment, compensation, benefits administration, employee relations, HRIS, and employee and management training and development. This 500-bed system is a member of Catholic Healthcare West. SRDH consists of 3 hospitals, in the Nevada market area one of the fastest growing markets in the US.

Senior Executive responsible for addressing and managing system wide Human Resources strategy and implementation. Serve as advisor and partner to senior executive leadership team concerning all organizational initiatives and participate in the execution of the strategic plans for SRDH. This 600-bed facility is the oldest in the Little Rock market. As a member of Catholic Health Initiatives, SVHS consists of 4 hospitals and numerous clinics throughout the community.

Senior Executive responsible for system-wide Human Resources issues. Reported directly to the CEO and held responsible for creating the business strategy and operational priorities for the area. Primary responsibilities include organizational staffing, retention, and administration of policy and procedure for the 3000 employees. Additionally, as the only unionized facility in the Little Rock market, I am responsible for management of the union relationship.
