Trine Aspects Inc. ( consulted at J. P. MORGAN CHASE – Chase Auto/Home Finance) 09/97 – 08/08

Participated in the development of a mainframe to server loan interest rate retrieval system. The new replacement is a Server based system using SQL and Oracle databases with a BIZTALK processor. The new mainframe rate retrieval system will handle all interest rate requests and will communicate with the server software using MQ methodology. Responsibilities included creating mapping programs to convert mainframe data to Server friendly data. Created MQ message programs that sent and received data to and from the new Server based system. Used MQ panels to monitor QUEUEs and Channels. Created programs to monitor and report response times between the two platforms. Additional responsibilities included debugging problems that occurred with data and communication flows (MQ). Built additional MQ queues for journaling support.

Designed and created a system for capturing and reporting MQ rate request response time. This system was used to provide transactional data on loan interest rate requests. The data was used to verify the accuracy of rates and customer and dealership codes entered into the Sequel Server database. Additional elements of the design included statistical reports to show transaction and customer growth using user driven criteria.

Participated in the addition of the bank's Texas loan portfolio onto the ACAPS Loan Origination CICS online system. Specific duties involved the creation of data mapping programs and rewriting the Financial and Insurance algorithms to accommodate Texas financial and insurance laws. Coded and implemented CICS programs that used the FICO credit system in making credit decisions. These FICO programs used CICS Transient Data Queues to trigger background pre-packaged communication programs.

Solely responsible for designing and building an application architecture for generalized bank compliance reports. This system was used to accept different selection criteria and provide randomized sample customer information to the bank’s compliance department.

Created a system of simplified test reporting tools to be used directly by the business testing group. This mainframe system allowed the testing team to request and run reports without having to rely on the programming staff's availability.

Altair Group Inc. (consulted at CHASE BANK) 10/95 – 12/96

Involved in maintenance of a large loan origination system. Used in many large banks ACAPS is a CICS Online loan origination system used to support the bank's installment, home equity and auto loans.

Specific duties involve incorporating user's online requests into the system. This required knowledge of the package as well as an ability to be fluent with the online debugging tools. At times, areas of the system that were not well known needed to be investigated. These tools (like INTERTEST and CEDF) were required to gain knowledge valuable for the enhancement process. Due to merger activity, processing that was available in one system needed to be incorporated into the other system. Enhancements included identifying new coding tasks or tasks where programs from one system could be inserted into the other system. The tools used to perform the above tasks were INTERTEST, IBM's CEDF, CECI and additional commands to make file access move flexible (AFCS - alters file tables).

Altair Group Inc. (consulted at CHEMICAL BANK) 06/92 – 10/95

Participated in the maintenance and enhancements of a national Student Loan system.

This enhancement allowed the system to process loans provided by 11 new lending guarantee agencies. The project lasted 3 months with a staff of 3 programmers. Defined the project plan, created the design document and was heavily involved in the coding of enhancements. Additionally, directed the work of two other programmers who were less conversant with the CICS environment. Asked to guide the others through debugging sessions so progress would not be slowed.

The programmers who were part of the project, although skilled, were not as experienced in Online systems. The major enhancements involved altering programs which were using hard-coded values to direct the flow of the process. These programs needed to incorporate new values; and where possible, be altered to process dynamically. When changes were to be made the hard coding was removed and dynamic data tables were created.

Had a major role in the development and implementation of two new business conversions to the system. These involved creating a modular design for minimizing programming work required in handling new business introduced to the system.

Lambda Technologies (consulted at EQUICOR INC.) 06/89 – 06/92

Involved in an Operations Review unit for a large Health Insurance company. The unit's responsibility was to reduce the costs of supporting, testing and installing a vendor supplied Health Insurance package. It provided support for user requests in the form of automated solutions. Originally staff members were requested to create programs to do Ad-hoc reports and functions. The unit provided a new ISPF panel system to be used for ad-hoc reporting. Additional online CICS/DB2 functions were provided for one user whose requests could not be handled by the ISPF Panel system. This online function required creating two DB2 Query programs which gave database access to the requesting user group. Provided CICS training for the one individual who was assigned to the project. The subsystem created resulted in savings of one-man week each month. The ISPF Dialog syntax while previously unknown to me, was easily learned. I was fully productive in a relatively short period of time.

Lambda Techlnologies (consulted at MANUFACTURERS HANOVER TRUST CO.) 06/88 – 06/89

Responsible for the installation of a Tax Reporting package at a major New York bank. The package produced Internal Revenue Service 1099 forms and enabled the bank to comply with the I.R.S. requirements for Tax Compliance withholding. Duties involved a study of the package, creating implementation plans, and managing the efforts of four staff members. Other responsibilities required calculating CICS as well as Batch operational resource requirements. Batch tasks required customizing the package to add new reports and additional control group processing. Solely responsible for the installation of the CICS Online Inquiry and Maintenance Subsystem. This included creating CICS table entries for the package’s Files, Programs, BMS maps and Transactions. Trained the production staff in the use of the system and developed user documentation which showed the use of the Batch as well as the online systems.

Datronics Inc. (consulted at ADP) 09/87 – 06/88

Managed a team of consultants in developing a Customer Master database used to support Brokerage functions at remote client sites. Also participated in the design of a delivery mechanism used to capture data and migrate it from the Host System to the clients’ sites. Responsibilities included leading a team of two other people in research efforts in an attempt to build a database complete enough to encompass all of the Host and Client informational requirements. Participated in the coding and implementation of batch programs used to migrate Host data to client sites. Responsible for publishing documentation which provided computer staff and perspective clients with an understanding of the information residing on the database.

Datronics Inc, (consulted at CITIBANK) 03/85 – 09/87

Responsible for the analysis of existing financial systems of a major New York bank in support of the implementation of a new banking service. The effort involved identifying interfaces between the new service and existing bank systems. The research resulted in a document that covered the automated information and manual procedures which were required to support the new service.
