Mesa County; Weed Management Reference Letter:

April 7, 2012

To Whom It May Concern:

Dick Antonio worked for Mesa County Division of Pest Management for three seasons, 2009, 2010, and 2011. During this time, he was a dependable employee who never missed a shift. He worked under the supervision of both myself as well as the former Mesa County Pest Inspector, Jude Sirota.

Dick was an asset to the department. He was always cheerful and willing to assist with any task. In addition, Dick was motivated and very knowledgeable in weed management skills and Natural Resource Management. Dick was who we turned to when information about grasses; and identification, plant palatability, and management was needed. His Rangeland Ecosystem management skills are superior, and are second to none.

Dick completed the Pesticide Applicator’s Training for each of the three years he worked for The Division of Pest Management. This training totaled 44 hours which covered all the required categories as required by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. Beyond these hours were numerous on-the-job/hands-on training hours. During his time with us, he gained hands-on experience, including weed ID, monitoring and treatment of noxious weed infestations. Dick was approved and trained to use many herbicides including Escort, Tordon, Redeem, Curtail, Rodeo, Aquaneat, Round-up, Milestone, Transline, Krenite, 2,4-D, Habitat, and others.

Dick will no longer be working for the Division of Pest Management due to no fault of his own. Major changes have occurred within that department. I highly recommend Dick to any future employer or volunteer organization.

If I can be of any further assistance, or provide you with any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Karen D. Eslinger: Former Pest Management Specialist, Mesa County, CO
