Project description:
• Power hammers are mechanical forging hammers that use a non-muscular power source to raise the hammer preparatory to striking and accelerate it onto the work being hammered.
• The purpose of a power hammer is to reduce human effort, time and error in forging a workpiece and thus enhance the quality of the final product. It can be used to strike and shape the required metal piece at a faster rate using an entirely mechanical system.
• Our objective is to use different forging tools on the same set up just by changing the hammer head and to provide a provision for changing the stroke length based on the workpiece
Applications:
This set up can be used in large and small-scale industry for forging purpose.
The same project or idea can be extended to forge non-ferrous metals. Training Undergone:
