JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

EF SUPPLY& SLAG HANDLING (Scrap Conductor-QATAR STEEL):

Responsible for the preparation of basket in computerize system according to technical department with EAF schedule.

Knowledge and responsibility of slinging and signaling.

Able to operate computerize system which record maintains in system according to EAF material is supplied in basket and Alloys hopper as per EAF request.

Coordinating & ensuring MH Raw materials (Lime, Dololime, Carbon charge, Carbon injection and Flux). Ferro alloys additives and metallic scrap are received, stored in Ferro alloys yard and supplied to SMS operations in timely manner to support uninterrupted SMS operational process.

Well knowledge and responsible of control panel system with conveyor belt, bucket elevator, vibrator feeder, shutter conveyor which different types of material supply to hopper.

Perform weighbridge operation including receiving, delivering and supplying to EAF.

Receiving and record maintain all types of steel scrap and misanalyses whatever coming from inside plant.

Receiving and record maintain the outside materials like lump lime, dolomite, size lime, lime powder, steel scrap and Ferro alloys etc.

Material delivery to outside and maintain record of delivery.

Records maintain the stock of steel scrap.

LOGISTICS AND SUBCONTRACTING (QATAR STEEL COMPANY):-

SCRAP RECEIVING (Yard Conductor-QATAR STEEL COMPANY):-

Identify different types of steel scraps to support activities relating to the receipt, storage and issue of materials under specific work direction and direct supervision.

Receive and segregate the scrap, coming outside from the company.

Not allow to receive scrap more than 1.5m long.

Assessing in scrap quality and maintain records of scrap received and issuance in accordance with procedures to ensure effective and optimum operation status.

To appropriate measurements to ensure that scrap quantity and quality are in conformance with specification.

Make record according to weight and type of scrap and record all data in specified log sheets according to set operating procedures.

Checks incoming scrap for explosives and non-conducted materials.

Ensure all operating, safety, environment and quality procedures are followed in order to ensure the highest standards of operation.

Keep separate Shredded scrap and Cast iron in scrap yard

Keep separate Rod bar, Billet, Skull (Slag pit, Tap pit & Tundish) in scrap yard

Follow Industrial safety rules & regulation during dumping the materials

Remove all foreign materials from scrap

Classify grade after receiving and checking the scrap

COLD BREQUITTING PLANT (QATAR STEEL COMPANY):-

Worked as a Panel operator and Field operator in COLD BREQUITTING PLANT, to produce BIPRODUCT BREQUETTS or REDUCE BREQUETTES from DR-FINES, DR-DUST, DR-SLURRY, MILLSCALE, OXIDE FINES, LIME FINES and EF-DUST.

Operate and monitor Briquetting Plant processes and equipment through continuous monitoring of process variables from control room as well as from the field.

To identify and deal with the operational issues or problems as they arise during normal plant operation, resolving and correcting such issues time to time, ensuring the smooth and trouble free operation of the plant. Timely notify the abnormalities to the concern reporting supervisor and act according to their advice.

To meet EF/DR By product briquette demand by constantly communicating with EFs/DR and Truck scale.

Implement both planned and unplanned changes to the operation/process control as directed by the supervisor.

To ensure all operating, safety, environment and quality procedures are followed in order to ensure the highest standards of operation and to support the achievement of continuous uninterrupted plant operations.

To conduct various by-product blend mix trial as per directive of R & D and supervisor.

FIELD OPERATOR (QATAR STEEL COMPANY):

Checks and observes the proper functioning of assigned area static and rotating equipment, identifying the equipment abnormalities and to inform supervisor.

Perform periodic routine operations such as switchover of filters or pumps or equipment startup and shutdown, including filling IM tankers, safe work permit, and control in the field activities.

Patrol work area and listen for warnings signals to determine potential malfunctions, taking necessary corrective and preventive actions where required.

Report abnormal operation situations to supervisory personnel and management.

Familiar with field & Control room operation of Conveyor belt system, dust collection system (De-Dusting plant).

Liaise with maintenance group for troubleshooting and minimize breakdowns.

Take appropriate measurements to ensure product Quantity and Quality are in conformance as per specification.

To endorse work permits after checking that the conditions mentioned are correct.

Carry out simple maintenance works as required.

To handle the emergency of plant from the field like, power failure, emergency shutdown.

Checking of fire extinguisher and breathing apparatus on daily basis and report any defect.

Responsible for the support of Company Safety, environment, Quality policies and programs. Ensures a safe working environment at all times

Suggest ideas to improve the plant working condition

Upon the emergency situation (such as flammable and toxic gas leak, fire & threat to any equipment damage) activate field manual ESD and report to respective Panel Operator and Shift controller.

Acts as Auxiliary Fireman and supports Fire Crew during an emergency.

Participate daily in the assigned area housekeeping activities.

Report all Near Miss Incidents to the concerned Shift controller

Completes the shift logbook containing comprehensive details of plant conditions, details of valid work permits, status of housekeeping, areas of concern and hand over the job to the incoming shift.
