Responsible for the design and development of custom finishing systems, (industrial ovens, washers, dryers, heat recovery unit, paint booths). Equipment was designed around customer’s product and assembly line with customers needs in mind. Because of the various types of products and conditions field surveys were taken first, then building conditions (layout, locations, an service) were looked at for fit-ups of new equipment, this was done before I could do any design. As with all designs I was in constant contact with customer, coating or finishing manufacturers and various suppliers. After designs were approved with customers I would make all the drawings (structural and mechanical layouts, wiring diagrams, sheetmetal enclosures for equipment, HVAC, piping, parts, assemblies and sub-assemblies) needed to complete the job. I was responsible for making sure that all systems were done according to all approved prints and passed UL, ANSI standards along with local building codes. Did all my own Designing, Drafting, and Checking. All work was done on drafting board and manual calculations (no software available). All work was done manually, drafting was done on a drafting board and all calculations were done with no software applications.
