Serving as VIP Client Manager for clients such as New York Yankees, NBA and the NHL is a significant accomplishment but only serves as a representative sample of many, which I have successfully accomplished during my career in various healthcare insurance management positions. If your future operational planning goals are consistent with having this type of result, you may be interested in my background.
Considered a senior healthcare executive with a combination of vision and corporate realism, I have been acknowledged for my capacity to harness the enthusiasm and talents of others, identify core issues, and exploit the necessary resources available to stretch funds and achieve management objectives in several highly demanding situations. A few notable accomplishments include:
Developing and Expanding Group Benefits Department: Developed the Group Benefits department from 35 employees under BWD to more than 150 employees in 3 offices in the northeast totaling 150 employees. Played a key role in integrating the clientele and cultures of 2 companies into one including the development and implementation of new software. Consequently, department’s revenue increased in 5 years from $11 million to $41 million.
Achieving Year-Over-Year Revenue Growth: Grew over a period of 11 years this family's podiatry business from 1 doctor, 1 front desk employee and 1 back office employee to 2 locations, 4 doctors and 15 employees. In August, 2019, finalized the sale of the business to a large hospital healthcare system. During my tenure as Chief Operating Officer, revenue increased from $250,000 in 2008 to $5.2 million in 2019.
Creating & Implementing Retirement Tax Savings: Created, negotiated and personally implemented contract language in over 90% of the 900 school districts in NY State which now allows thousands of retiring teachers to tax shelter their lump sum payouts of unused sick and vacation leaves into their defined contribution plan (403b).
My in-depth experience with revenue generation, retirement tax savings, and employee group benefits knowledge, as well as my project leadership ability, and capacity to achieve objectives will contribute to the further success of any business initiatives undertaken by your organization.
When it comes to something as important as hiring a Chief Operations Officer, words on paper are no substitute for personal interaction so let me suggest a next step. I’d like to get on your calendar in a few days so that we can explore how I can serve your needs.
Feel free to call me on my direct line of 631-***-****.
Sincerely,
Evan Engler

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Developing and Expanding Group Benefits Department: Developed the Group Benefits department from 35 employees under BWD to more than 150 employees in 3 offices in the northeast totaling 150 employees. Played a key role in integrating the clientele and cultures of 2 companies into one including the development and implementation of new software. Consequently, department’s revenue increased in 5 years from $11 million to $41 million while maintaining total payroll under $10 million for an operating budget of $26 million in 2018.
As a result, each retiring teacher saved approximately 45% on the first $40,000 deposited ($18,000 tax dollars saved) with the district saving FICA taxes of 7.65% on each retiring teacher’s lump sum payment. This program continues to this day with providing the largest statewide retirement tax savings for teachers and districts.
Improving Quality Assurance: Realized as Service Center Manager the need for developing an internal quality assurance department at TIAA-CREF. Developed the department and co-wrote the database system to provide service team members with correct answers to difficult questions while building an internal base of knowledge utilizing the most experienced representatives. Subsequently, from 2011 to 2012 the QA department fielded more than 10,000 calls, which improved the accuracy of answers provided to the clients from approximately 86% to 98%.
