DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Awareness and understanding of all legal HSE rules and regulations/ legislation and procedures in the company to ensure the compliance of the same.
Develop and implement safe systems of work for the project in conjunction with the project Manager.
Carry out regular and random inspections on site and record results.
Maintain the necessary HSE related records.
Ensure the use of Protective clothing and equipment for the job.
Liaise with department and clients in controlling the permit to work system.
Identify unsafe acts and condition and advice/report concerned.
Ensure maintenance of high standard of housekeeping at all times.
Ensure the risk assessment have been carried out where necessary.
Environment impact assessment and controls.
Ensure that permit to work system is followed where necessary.
Ensure the COSHH assessment is carried out for the hazardous substances.
Record and compile HSE statistics.
Report injuries, incident resulting from work activities.
Investigate into site accidents and analyze causes and associated preventive actions.
Monitor the system of maintenance and inspection of firefighting equipment.
Conduct safety induction and internal training/awareness for employees.
Continually inspect the work area to identify unsafe act and conditions and advises line supervision.
Ensure availability of adequate first aid facilities for all employees at site.
Ensure availability of adequate fire protection facilities at all areas of the project.
Observes condition of machineries, equipment and lifting gear, report deficiencies to concern department.
Ensure the safe condition of scaffolding/ladder and implementation of Scaff-Tag.
Ensure all equipment’s and tools are in proper condition.
Ensure availability of adequate safety sign boards for the work place.
Maintain emergency preparedness and initiate emergency response, conduct mock up drills.
Periodically analyze job, particularly at each major phase of work, for any potential HSE hazards and recommend corrective action.
Stop work if imminent danger exists and informs concerned.
Ensure that sub-contractors operate in a safe manner and comply with the project HSE procedures.
